i take it were just going to pretend our last game never happend lol

It was a pretty frustating game really. We were creating enough chances to win/score but we just werent good enough

Full credit to the mackems, they were easily the best side on the day.

Why do we not always start 2 up front? Everytime we do (not including Bendtner who is a waste of space) we seem to play a lot better and put ball after ball in the back of the net. Edu and Vela hopefully up front.

I've deliberately been avoiding this thread because I was too angry. It was a disgraceful performance by Arsenal and it wasn't like Sunderland parked the bus and scored a lucky goal, they were out playing Arsenal clearly.

Like someone mentioned, we need to start 2 up front. Eduardo was woeful because he can't hold the ball up and had no support. Looked 5x better when Vela came on.

So disappointed. Seems this is a common occurrence each season. Start the season with so much promise, think this could be the year only to crumble by Christmas.

This falls on Wenger. Failure to strengthen the squad every single transfer window in recent memory (excluding buying a thousand wide attacking players). When will he realise that Arsenal are weak, when teams play Arsenal physically they turn to water. But hey, no need to replace Adebayor, the guy who scored 46 goals over the past two seasons, because theres already so much quality up front. Wrong Arsene, Van Persie is the ONLY world class striker you have. Dont get me started on baby elephant Bendtner.

Denilson? Why persist with him? Hes not good enough going forward and when he forced into playing a defensive midfield position he gives the ball up far too often.

Walcott? Sick of the hype. Has he even improved since he entered the league? Cant cross, cant finish and cant keep up with his own legs.

At least Vermalen and Gallas look solid in the middle and Song has been awesome. But dont worry Arsene, I cant wait for next season when my hopes get built up again and youre in the press telling everyone that will listen that your young team is ready to take the next step. As the commentators continued to say "Substance prevails over Style".

Do we try Walcott as a striker with someone? How tall is Vela? I know Walcott and Edu wouldn't work because they're both short asses.

Needs less Bendtner, Denilson.

I tell you what Sagna has been one of our underated perfomers week in week out. Even in the start studded french side he stood up as a clear standout.

We can not keep playing one striker with our current situation. Eduardo is not good enough for the role and neither is Vela/Bendtner/Walcott or whoever.

We were just out muscled against Chelsea and even though we play "nice" football it isnt going to win us anything. Our players just dont know when to pull the trigger and have a shot, always looking for one too many passes, it is very frustrating.

Spot on.

I was concerned about our depth when we didn't go into the market to replace Ade over the summer.

Although it seems that AW is looking to buy in the transfer window...

lol fantastic. Starting line-up:

Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Traore, Eboue, Fabregas, Denilson, Nasri, Rosicky, Arshavin.

Not even playing a striker at all this week.
