Where was Almunia? Was he injured or did Arsene just choose Fabianski over him?

I guess whatever slim chance Arsenal had of winning the title died with that result. It's a shame injuries have played such a big part in your guys campaign

Almunia was "injured" but injuries were not an excuse today, we just dont have players who are willing to play for 90mins and players that dont have that ruthless mentality to close out a game, until we get some hard nuts in our team, we wont win anything, enough is enough, Wenger needs to use some cash and get some tried and tested talent, not some kid

Fabianski, Silvestre, Campbell, Eastmond, Bendtner, Eboue ?

You cant continually trot these players out and expect good results. Arsene needs a to have a good hard look at himself this off-season imo.

It is rumoured he has $60mil but when he spends it, ill believe it.

A positive out of last nights game was young Eastmond, he looks like a good player and already ahead of Denilson.

Man, we need some major changes this off season, ive said it before but we need to get stronger and develop a mentality of a champion team, unitl then we will always be "close enough"

A great central defender is a must and wouldnt be averse to throwing this young Polish keeper in to see what he has (supposedly its alot).

In all honesty who are the first six names on the team sheet?

Fabregas
Arshavin
Vermaelen
Gallas
Song
RVP
(..to a lesser extent) Almunia

Six of those weren't playing and one started on the bench.

We can't expect a team with the likes of Silvestre, Campbell, Eastmond, Denilson, Diaby to play the Arsenal-style football we've come to expect (Conor Henderson was on the bench ffs). However, it can be said that the "Arsenal style" of late was specifically what was on show today.

The team was up 2-0 after 80 minutes, which was a fantastic effort considering the squad on the field. The final ten minutes may have come down to a mixture of inexperience and lack of focus. Or it may be blamed on the "experience" Silvestre and Campbell succumbing to fatigue?

Either way, I'm not looking forward to the City game.

Or maybe, just maybe, the opposition played well?

I remember it was 100 mp last season. It's all bullsh*t as he won't spend it whislt Man U and chelseas get better by spending big.

Well United fans hope we will be spending big after spending so little of the proceeds of Ronaldo's ridiculous transfer fee (though Valencia for 22 mil was a more than handy pick up). I don't know if we have the capacity to bring in the likes of a Keane or a Cantona these days. Bloody Glazers!!! :x

In any case, Citeh are clearly the new big spenders.

Lost 2-1 to Blackburn. Fabianski guilty of being too passive in his area for the 2nd Blackburn goal.

Geez we lucked out on Fabianski. Should've got Boruc (that celtic goalkeeper). We probably thought Fabianski would be a young version of him.

The source is goal.com so make of it what you will, but apparently Fabregas has told Wenger that he wants to leave for Barcelona this season.

Cesc Fabregas has told Arsene Wenger in a face-to-face meeting today that he wants to quit Arsenal and rejoin Barcelona, Goal.com can confirm.

In a showdown described only as "emotional", the midfielder delivered the bombshell to his mentor and the man to whom he feels he owes his career that, following some agonising soul-searching, he wants to leave the club that he joined as a 16-year-old.

It is understood that the talks between Wenger and Fabregas, who flew into the UK today from Spain for treatment on his injured knee, took place in London.
