Cafe 88 was not an option as it closes at 2.30 and we were catchin up at 3.30. They lock it up from memory, but I know they definately dont allow anyone in there when closed.

I heard that there were kids in Sterlo's on Saturday arvo and security did not ask them to leave. Maybe next time we should just give them a call. But the second the TAB goes back in it will definately be off limits to kiddies. Even tho I dont have kids of my own, I love Wenty Leagues for the family atmosphere it promotes. Kids have a play area and all!!

TBH, I haven't been there, but it was mentioned a while ago that Wenty Leagues has a fairly good kiddies area.

I've also been to several pubs that have a good setup. I'm not one for exposing my youngens to the evils of alchohol and gambling at such an age as my kids are but, Saturday's example at the R and C was a perfect situation where kids/adults/alchohol/social banter/interaction can all co-exist
in a very family friendly atmosphere.

Im gunna steal my friends kids over the summer just so I can take em to a Sunday Funday. Every Sunday they get clowns and face painters in and they show cartoons up on the big screens. The area is set up furthest away from everything up near the bowling greens. There is a main bar, but it is situated in the middle of their 2 restaurants. The TAB section is set up on the lower floor and the pokies are set up on the higher floor, but failry out of sight due to the Sports bar kinda area in the middle. Parra Leagues could learn alot from Wenty. Im more happier as a Wenty League member than a Parra one at the moment (value for money wise) but have faith in our new directors making changes for the better.

there may be ways around the wording of the legislation with regards to minors. They are definatley not allowed in any poker machine area but at some clubs I have been to and pubs also, as long as kids stay at least a metre from the bar they are able to access nearly all areas.

It may be something as simple as providing a snack bar where hot chips etc can be purchased. Remember there is a bar in cafe 88 and this is no problem.

My suggestion was for the future, that maybe they shouldn't lock Cafe 88 up pre game on game days... stick a plasma in there and use it for something useful. The spaces are there (Wentworth Room etc), they're just not being used right to cater for fans on game days (just twelve times a year, or less!).
