I have been given the role of writing up the Tigers 2007 season review.

So, in an attempt to write something a bit different, I'd like to hear people's opinions on the following

Best Players
Most Disappointing Players
Best Performances
Worst performances
Problem areas
Strong areas
2008 prospects

I've got my article all but finished, but i want to add a touch of 'fans opinions' to the article.

cheers.

Best Players Farah then agree daylight
Most Disappointing Players Marshall/Hodgson admittedly injuries played a major part but they were both very ordinary.
Best Performances Win vs Storm
Worst performances Loss vs Souths, unforgivable lack of effort.
Problem areas No consistent half combination, outside defence was terrible.
Strong Areas Backrow, youth coming through
2008 prospects Tuiaki, Galloway

Lawrence, Collis, Marshall, Fulton, Teo are all about to have a 'crunch' year in 2008. Will tell us if they are future rep players or pretenders.

Biggest Dilemna what to do with Stuey F, could play first grade tommorrow but won't get in front of Farah for the next 4-5 years so what to do?????????

Best Performances V Storm @ Blutongue and V Cowboys @Leichhardt

Problem areas Outside backs defense, lack of a genuine metre eater in the pack, cohesion in the halves, commitment from 50% of players, positional shuffling
Strong areas Skill level in forwards, young prospects coming through
2008 prospects D Galea, Luke Harlen, Ryan O'Hara, Lewis Brown, Flanno, Lazarus, Moltzen, Toa Asa, Tohi Leha

Best Players - In 2007 Robbie Farah, Chris Heighington, Taniela Tuiaki and to a lesser extent, Todd Payten, Liam Fulton and Chris Lawrence.

Most Disappointing Players - The rest had poor to average seasons.

Best Performances - Vs Bulldogs, Cowboys and Storm.

Worst performances - The last three games against Titans, Rabbitohs, Knights.

Problem areas - Instability in the halves, injury clouds over two of three best players (Hodgson, Marshall), forward pack isn't small, but it has too often been dominated, lacks a respected, aggressive leader in the front row, outside backs undersized, DEFENCE.

Strong areas - At their best are as dynamic an attacking unit as any side in the competition.

2008 prospects - Hoping Ben Te'o grows into a real good dominant backrower in the mould of Feleti Mateo.

Best - FArah and Heighno - he really came on this year
Most disappointing - a tight race between plenty of clowns. J Morris wins it
Best performances - Bulldogs, Storm, Cowboys and Canberra against the odds
Worst - How long have you got
Problem areas - sheens, simmons, morris .. the axis of evil
Strong areas - when it clicks and the planets align. BUt too often we turn it up if plan A doesn't work
2008 prospects - grim

Most Disappointing Players
Benji Marshall, Paul Whatuira, Bryce Gibbs and Junior Burger

Best Performances
Beating Melbourne, Bulldogs and the Cowboys
The 2nd half against Penrith

Worst performances
Vs Manly at LO, Parra at TS, Souths at LO, Knights at TS

Problem areas
Pillow props, no creative or organising halfback, stopping tries close to our line when the opposition hits the decoy

Strong areas
Good fullback, Hooker and 5/8, good young guns coming through

2008 prospects

Ben Te'o, the 3 PL halves, Rhys Hanbury

Best Players - Farah and Tuiaki
Most Disappointing Players - Halatau primarily. He was utter crap and doesn't deserve a place in first grade. There are many other players also.
Best Performances - Win over the Storm
Worst performances - Plenty. The one against Souths is probably one of the most heartless performances in history.
Problem areas - We don't have a halfback. We can't defend. We are losing players and signing no one.
Strong areas - Some good players for the future: Lawrence, Teo, Tuiaki
2008 prospects - The above 3 and maybe someone from reserves.

Best Players
Robbie Farah, Chris Heighinton & Todd Payten

Most Disappointing Players
Paul Whatuira, Dean Halatau & Jason Moodie

Best Performances
Wins against Cowboys @ Leichardt, Panthers @ Telstra & Storm @ Central Coast

Worst Performances
Most disgraceful was either v Roosters or v Knights in the backend of the season

Problem Areas
Defence, it starts and stops right there.

Strong Areas
Youth and raw talent, its all there in front of them

2008 Prospects
2 players i think are due for the big time are Ben T'eo & Tim Moltzen, our youth is a big bonus

Biggest Dilema
What to do with our halfback role, it should go to Moltzen.... also poor Stuey Flannegan, we must put this guy to use !

Best Players - Farah.
Most Disappointing Players - Collis. Big wraps, and hardly a peep from him.
Best Performances - Six in a row early in the season.
Worst performances - Two from eight late in the season.
Problem areas - Winning when it counts.
Strong areas - Winning when it doesn't count.
2008 prospects - Expect about the same as 2007. Patchy, and ending on a low note...

Best Players

Farah, Heighington, Tuiaki, Payten

Most Disappointing Players*

Gibbs, Collis

Best Performances

vs STORM

Worst performances

vs MANLY, vs SOUTHS, vs EELS, vs KNIGHTS

Problem areas

Halfback. Goal-kicking. Lack of penetration by Forwards generally. Recruitment, retention, upgrades, extensions, releases. Defence. Weakening 1xposition drastically, to render another position slightly less pathetic. Attempts at manufacturing specialist players. Over reliance on Utility players. Failing to drop non-performing players. Overemphasis on training performance, lack of emphasis on match performance. Tactical leadership. Halfback.

Strong areas

Ability to win games, with flair, when opposition is in form slump, without 1st string players, etc.

2008 prospects

Dire.

* Moodie, McDonnell, Morris didnt disappoint- There was little expectation. To be fair to Morris, he is an ordinary utility that was shoehorned into a half.
