Munster is the best player in the NRL so Luai can't be the best 6. He is however a great foil for Cleary.
You've got it in a nutshell. Maybe in a couple more years if Luai continues to develop his game, then maybe this discussion would be warranted. At this moment, too early.

Swap cleary with brett firman for a season and see if he still makes the grand final.

Going by general comments JT missed every single tackle he ever attempted so i guess he is ahead there.

Firman was very like Luke Brooks, looked a worldbeater early on.

At least Firman had an excuse, boy damn near lost his leg....

As for Luai, if you're talking a less talented, less influential, less likeable approximation of JT, I could see it if I squint

I'm a big Luai fan, but thats a big call with Munster, Keary & Walker running around. He is coming along very nicely though.

Lui has a lot of raw talent, he reminds me of a young Benji Marshall / Billy Slater style.

One day he will be a legend !!!!

The OP was only about his footwork.

How so? It's Panthers fans for the most part being the ones that are saying he has a long way to go to be at that level.

you would “probably” have keary ahead of him... the 3 time premiership winning Clive Churchill medalist.

the OP has him as his generation’s JT.

All this despite luai having played like 20 standout games and probably 6-7 great games his entire career.

I'm pretty sure the OP isn't a Panthers supporter.

My comment was in response to another poster who definitely isn't a Panthers supporter rating him ahead of Keary. Context bro, it's important.

Also my comment before the one you mentioned

20 standout games you say? Not bad for a bloke that has just over 40 games & about 10 or so were being eased in off the bench.

Obviously being a Panthers fan I rate him. I wouldn't anoint him as the next anything just yet though. He is obviously talented & competitive as f**k so I guess the JT comparisons are inevitable at some point. At this stage I just think he and Cleary are a bloody good combo and I'm pretty excited to see how it progresses.
