I already watch 90% of NRL games but I'll be certain to not miss any Tigpies games in the next few years. Luai is f**king massive for you guys, I do still think you need a real coach though
The jury is out for me with Benji. He's a winner and has a connection with the younger players which we have a lot of.
I don't think you can judge him on this year as it was disjointed with the Sheens saga.
He'll have a full off-season with the players and coaches and we'll have a better roster.
The younger players like Bula and Galvin will be better too imo.
I think missing the 8 will be a fail though and there will be a lot of pressure on him to get us off the bottom.

Bula has been impressive but don't sleep on Turuva stealing the fullback spot if given the chance

Competition is good, both will be in the team somewhere though.
I think we need a defensive winger as we have far too many tries leaked out wide. Taruva seems sound but has had great support inside.
In saying that, the cover D has been poor especially from our outside centre and Bula.
Bula started out spectacularly in covering but really fell off in the second half of the season. It could have been attributed to the Labral tear in his shoulder suffered against the Knight.
Whatever happens, we have to have a big off season concentrating on D.

Finishing at least 10th 9th is a pass for the tigers next season the season after that they have to make the top 8

Anything but the spoon :)
I've run my eye over the teams that were outside the 8 this year and compared it to our side next year and if we don't make the eight there will be no doubt that the excuses will come thick and fast.
It's time to raise the bar/standards. I'm sure Luai and Api will have something to say about that.

I like Bula, however I don’t think his ceiling is that high. Like I can’t ever see him being a top 5 fullback. I also think a lot of his attributes would be just as handy at centre/wing.

Turuva is probably a bit more explosive and has shown in his small chances at fullback he has a surprisingly decent passing game. How he goes in the defensive/cleaning up at fullback which Bula is so good at would be the test.

With a shit lad of cash..
Fairs fair and spot on. There’s no point in pretending to be what we are not.
I doubt others would have paid a mill. or that Luai would have come to WT for less than a mill..Benji and Richo and karasau just knew the importance of his signing him and got it done. Of those 3 I wonder who would have been the most keen?

We’ve got another club member STP.. I think that makes 3 now. We may need to increase the membership fee to pay for the dancing girls. I don’t think the grog sales will cover it

Well of course, but any bottom team is going to have to pay big $$$ to get a top player from a top team. Its worth noting that we got him for about $300k over what Penrith offered him, which is the same amount that we offered Moses over what Parra re-signed him for. Also about 12 years ago Penrith went hard and offered Jonathan Thurston the biggest contract in rugby league history which he knocked back. So just offering a player big money doesnt guarentee their signing.

At the time the majority of Panthers fans (including their coach) screamed at us that he cant play halfback and we paid massive overs. Both of those have since been proven to be completely incorrect. He's killed it at halfback and if we was on the market from Nov 1 this year he would have about 10 clubs offering him over $1m a year.

Can Galvin kick?

Even when Luai has played 7 aside from a handful of games he has shared the kicking and organising with Schneider.

He played well in Origin but again Moses did all of the kicking,

He has never kicked a FG or 40/20 for perspective. So I am not sure how many sides would run him at 7 not 6.

Statically Jarome Luai has the fifth longest kicking game and the second lowest kick return meters across the comp this year. And you cant just put this down to Penrith, as Cleary and Schneider arent in the top 10 for either

Yes, Galvan can kick.
And kicked pretty good for his first season.

Cleary wouldn't of played enough games to get on that list. Neither would of Schneider, Because Cole was preferred early on

It is Penrith though. Our average set distance conceded is 11m less than we have ourselves.

This from Fox Sports. Luai and Cleary have 28.1m per kick

I hope he is as good as you need him to be, but he needs a couple of pre seasons to nail those kicks but also to get consistent.

The Sharks game at Shark Park for example he was in beast mode. Complete with 600 Kick metres v Titans though he had half of Schneiders kick metres.

I am a huge fan of his imo he has been the best 6 in the last 4 years but no sure he is worth the money. Time will tell
