And I was surprised that Ivan started the public condemnation of JL when it all exploded, it didn’t help retain him.

But as the best rugby league coach in the world, he can be forgiven for this small infraction.

It was one of those moments, where he knew he should be cool, but in his heart he couldn’t believe the ungratefulness of JL.

Like many people, Ivan sprouts the virtue of loyalty when it suits him.

I think you should release JL asap. He’s just going to cause mischief.

$780k will buy a good player who wants to commit.

Arguing amongst yourselves isn’t going to bring him back.

$580k extra per season is.

@soc123_au intimated on the tigers forum recently that its not worth keeping him if the foundation of the squad is chipped away at to the extent of grave weakness in other areas. He wasn’t having a bar of it.

So you have $780k liberated which is a handy sub marquee or two factories or to throw at promising juniors.

You could use some of it to upgrade Nate.

We all know he’s underpaid. I think he is.
Why pay Nathan top dollar when we can just pay Ivan 😉

Jarome is a running 5/8th not an orgainising half. It will be Brooks Mark11.
I have the same fears but Brooks was very predictable.
He is more solid around the hips and as a result he doesn't have the footwork, change-up or the kicking game that Jarome has.
Brooks seems intimidated every time he gets into the red zone.
Jarome still may play ⅝ for the Tigers if Bud or Fainu get a run at ½ next year and go well???
My question to you guys is how are you going to cope/adjust losing Stephen Crichton to the doggies, Imo he was your best in '23.
Is Izack Tago going to go up another gear?

I was thinking on the emotional level, JL and Ivan have been close for awhile. JL owes a lot of his success to Ivan, more than the other way around.

Then there’s been this entanglement about money and other people at the table.

So there’s this defacto divorce thing at the friendship level.

It reminds me of Meghan and Harry walking away from the royals.

Can JL find happiness at the Tigers? I hope so, but it’s not automatic.

Let the record show that the dogs deserters, none of them have prospered or gone on to better things. None of them look happy.

Ciraldo still looks like he can’t handle first grade. They won’t put up with him for too much longer.

Just some thoughts.

I’m very excited about it, but more excited that our board was finally taken out behind the centre of excellence and summarily shot in the back of their fat stupid heads. I’m sorry I missed it.

Tago was injured for most of the year. Give him a year injury free, he will be amazing. Tough as nails, built like a backrower, but with a step, speed and ball handling. He will be amazig.

Sure I agree Critta will be missed, but the game plan can and will be changed to cover somewhat for him. Like when Api left, Key stood up, and Sommerton was a revelation.

By the time Luai gets to W/T he will be 28. You guys have signed him on huge money for 5 years.

Jarome has had injuries to his right shoulder, same shoulder he injured in 2021.

Jarome doesn't possess a long boot, if your wanting him to do all your organising, I think you'll be unhappy, same with kicking. Jarome is a runner rather than an organiser. A larger version of Preston Campbell.

Nathan hasn't lived in the family home since 2020..
Just a failed joke Alice.
Na I was referring to Brooks short kicks...they always go dead in goal however I've been watching a lot of Jarome's kicks for Samoa and some at Penrith and he can kick.
You do raise a good point with long kicks deep from our end...can he do that?
Mate as far as his age and injuries go. His age is not relevant imo. 35 is. Injuries...well I've heard several times that the guy is superfit and heals well, I think I heard that again when he was trying to get fit for this years gf.
Lastly we dont have a game winning ½/⅝.
The club had to try something after collecting 2 spoons.

I understand what you're saying. Jarome doesn't have a long kick on him. His short kicking game is good.

The players around Jarome took pressure off when he kicked short. Are the players at W/T capable of that ?

Penrith have perhaps the best rehab dept and their physios are 2nd to none. That I believe has more to do with the good return from injury, rather than the individual player persay.

Does W/T have that ? Chooks and dogs appear to struggle in this area.

As far as protection goes we don't have a James Fisher Harris type of player but seriously in the modern game it's more about positioning your players and to give to ½ quick clean service, I'm sure you would agree that Api can do that easily.
We've rarely had problems getting out of our own end, but rather we shit ourselves when we're on tackle 5 in the red zone.
This might sound crappy but our pack on paper is a beauty and if we can sort out our egde D and our halves attacking crap we'll shoot up the ladder.
I just hope I'm alive to see it ha ha

Are you kidding me? The comments from Ivan was not mean.

Why did he voice those concerns? There is only one reason, to try and cast doubt into the minds of the opposition the club was bidding against. It’s one all part of the business.

None of it is personal
I listened to Ivan's comments, there was nothing wrong with it. Luai obviously took offense, and reacted poorly. He had prior form in this.

Yes it's a business. He needs to go now, in my honest opinion.
