Great for Jerome Luai, not good business by the Wests Tigers.

Huge money for Luai. Love the bloke to pieces, is though worth almost as much as Cleary.......

W/T appear to be joing the dogs club, of paying overs for whom ever is on the market.

Could end up being another rabbit hole of their own making.

It's a very easy risk adjusted decision for Jarome.

$4 million or $1.7 million guaranteed pre tax.

Nobody should turn that down.

If say the Tigers go no where though, His off field earnings post career are smaller. Especially with how hated he is off field.

We won't miss a beat with any of the 3 options so those who stay, I'd back to earn more post career

Particularly if he stays local and has fuel and tolls like us plebs who take the M4 daily

I said a month ago there would be clubs offering Luai over a mil a year. I mentioned the Tigers and the Dogs as possible homes. 2 posters disagreed with me. One even said a Mil won't come from a Sydney club.
Now here we are.

@age.s called the Tigers as a possible home a month ago. Credit to him.

It’s just silly, just won’t work out for them. Jerome is a fine support act, he’s just not going to deliver what you need from a $1M plus signing.

Credit to him if it goes ahead.

That Fainu's manager is a scumbag and sent him across with the promise of FG.

He has several others there too, some politics to play out

It appears to me (my opinion only) that's it's a way to go down another dark rabbit hole....this time of their own making.

I'd hate Luai to be caught up in this, because W/T fans eat their own at regular intervals.

and Luai doesn't deserve that.

Then the W/T faithful will find some way (any way) to blame Ivan Cleary for the mess they created all by themselves.

The writing was on the wall awhile ago. Some picked-up vibes after the GF.

For me the telling sign was signing with BM. You don't sign with them to re-sign for 2-years at your existing club.

We need to move forward and renew.

We have Cole and Schneider locked in for 2025, That would be where I would start and run the 2 halfback model as opposed to Laurie who is a like for like

Will offer more years but won't budge on price.

If the Tigers offer is over a million. Adios. He won’t turn that done.
He doesn't want out either. That is BS. Everything is business.

Much as I thought. Thanks Blade for you imput.........a huge offer.

Will it be the 'right' thing for Luai footy wise. Or will he end up like The Peach and Laurie comming back on a very reduced deal in an attempt to rescue his footy career.

Of course Blade it's business. Jarome wants to set his family and extended up for life, especially post footy.

So do you think Cole can be a better centre than Alamoti and May?

For what Ivan wants in defence yes. Alamonti has a heap of work to do.

May is untried.
Tago refuses medical treatment

McLean is a possible

But you'd think

Laurie/Schneider will be the halves pairing should Luai/Cleary not make WCC

I have only seen a few games of Cole, so probably not the best one to judge. But from the few games I have seen, Cole really needs to work on his defence though to be ready for first grade
