Boring team too. 4-2 in the games showpiece; please…No cap either
Dream on!Not even close to the 81-86 Eels
Of course they do.Wait, people respond to Rhynob non ironically?
It’s just not possible to compare sides from different eras 40 years apart.Boring team too. 4-2 in the games showpiece; please…
let’s face it Ella was electric, but hardly ever played (injuries) Kenny was brilliant too, but again hardly ever played (too often didn’t show up).
Outside of that, Grothe was a poor man’s To’o, Price had Yeo’s motor but not his hands or vision, can’t even remember who played fullback or others in the pack. Sterlo was great till midway through ‘87, but not sure what happened after that; maybe weighed down by the snorkel. Hopefully the same thing doesn’t happen with Cleary and his chin…

The game has evolved so much the current era bears no resemblance to the Eels of the 80’s or some great sides thereafter.
The Sterlings and Kenny’s were supreme talents if they were coming thru the junior ranks today, with full time training, nutrition, sports science and everything the current players enjoy they would be stars today. No but comparisons always come up, never looks good for those in the past.
Bradman's record is about the only difference to that.
Compare the size of that 11 in arow Dragons to the current guys, That alone sees that side murdered by even the weaker teams

There were virtually no Polynesian players in the 80’s so again it is impossible to make a fair and reasonable comparison. The forwards of today and a high percentage of backs are all 100kgs or more. It is just so different. Comparisons are unfair to the great sides of days gone by.
The time to say farewell is once he is officially gone. With a sad heart, bye bye Luai. Let’s upgrade all the others. Let’s not get caught up in all the emotion of this again like Crichton.
Bob ‘the Bear’ O’Reilly played a couple of seasons for us in the late 70’s , played almost 300 games that version wouldn’t get a single game in the NRL currently but that’s where you simply can’t compare. It’s just not like for like far from it.Hard to say. Sterling in particular was 75kg. How would he go with 10kg more?
That is where these comparisons are impossible, In theory the great players in any era transfer across.
The lack of size would change things
Not everyone we need to save space to actually buy a player of note. Kinda exciting if it's a 6 or 9With a sad heart, bye bye Luai. Let’s upgrade all the others. Let’s not get caught up in all the emotion of this again like Crichton.
We won’t be buying anyone of any consequence or cost. Not everyone we need to save space to actually buy a player of note. Kinda exciting if it's a 6 or 9
