Where da f**k is a mod when we need one?!

Dat @macnaz he be scoffing donuts over on the game day thread I bet. Chugging beers with @sensesmaybenumbed.

In the meantime, our home forum is burning and there’s violence in the threads.

They should be here arresting people.

Even so, I didn’t see nothing.

Like those 2018-19 seasons

Anyways I’m not saying he’s immortal status , far from it

he mentioned in a recent interview Doueihi back for him will be massive, pretty much implied having Mbye next to him was a mess lol
Cause Douiehi will take control and have a crack....... or with spin, Douiehi’s creativity will
Take the pressure off Brooks and allow
Him to play his natural game.
Congrats to Luke 150games is a big milestone, hope he has a blinder.

How time flies. Still feels like he only picked up a footy for the first time yesterday.

Sometimes he still plays that way. Look he is not the worst fist grader ever but waiting year in, year out for him to come good is stupid. I've said for a while now it will never happen in my opinions but who else do you sign to replace him. You may get Reynolds but even then he's got two good year in him and then we are back to the same spot we are now, unless we have some gun coming through, which is what Madden was supposed to be.

Pretty much all of the fans on this thread are on the same page regarding Brooks. We all want him to do well and claim that seven spot with great play.
The unfortunate thing about his 150th is the fact that halfback is the position that ensures your team is led to wins and finals spots. Not one of his 149 games is a finals game....it is a symbol of failure...both on Brooks and our club. This is why his milestone has been met with a lot of negativity this week.

@Wizardman makes some very sobering points, hard to face up to in the cold light of day.

But I can’t see anything expressly constructive or interesting about returning to eat our own vomit of past years. I think it’s all a given to some degree.

It’s the present and future that captivates me and I’m generally pleased with the players we recruited.

As far as Brooks is concerned, Madge and the club has been deliberately building him up publically and with that comes obligations.

He even joined into this autobiographical chorus himself.

There was all this expectation that with a couple of willing forwards and whatever he would show something reminiscent of his glory days. He was supposed to lead us and set the example.

And then we got last week and it dawned on me that he’s not lazy or lacks any courage etc, he’s just incompetent and unable for the long and its looks like the short term haul

I think he might jag 20 maybe 30 really good minutes tomorrow before he signs off.

Even if he has a blinder, it’s not enough.

I think that deep down Madge and Harto know this too. Thus the public pressure.

Great post. Madge is definitely the best coach we have had at this club since Sheens. He has done MANY more good things than bad. He has done a great job to gradually improve the pack. By round 25, they will be a lot better and tough to contend with.
The only critical thing I have to say about our roster since he has joined was the signing of Douhei. Douhie was far too slow for fullback and centre....and defensively weak at centre too.
My only cause for optimism at this point regarding Douhei is it seems that our best shot at getting value for him is at six. He has a promising passing game, strong and has a great habit of breaking the first tackle on a lot of occasions. The position change just may work for him and for us. I have some optimism left for him unlike Brooks.

That's what I meant - he's still "raw" after 7 seasons.

Surely times nearly up. I think it'd be beneficial for club and player to try something different.

You don’t really want to build up a player publically if you don’t want to put on pressure him.

And we saw a considerable amount of club interview time talking him up last week and calling him to lead.

And it puts a lot of pressure on him because it’s from a very senior source.

And if he fails, it’s easier then to justify replacing him, otherwise the coach is found out as a subscriber. His words can be used against him.

If you want to protect him, you don’t really place him under public scrutiny.

And I noticed we had Jock join Pascoe for a whole episode of meet the boss giving him a lot of publicity and raising his profile. The club want him in the fan consciousness.

Spot on....it is absolutely no accident. The club are rightfully turning up the ante on him (should have done so way sooner than now). Our pack is now decent enough to give Brooks some chances.
