Hard to go passed if you only look at stats.

Based on the games I watched, of the wingers I was more impressed by Dallin Watene-Zelezniak than Johnston in some ways - playing in a less dominant team he had less clear cut opportunities but looks the more complete footballer.

Comparing halves and wingers is a fools game.

Given they rate Brooks a star half of the future, and that he was decent at a pretty tender age of just 19, it's no surprise they gave it to him over a fine young finisher.

The truly hilarious thing is the usual suspects can barely even raise a positive word about this. Bright side boys.

Bloody hell, you girls are bloody hopeless.

I said Brooks had a good season but far from great. Alex Johnston was superb.

Dallin was good but Alex was the stand out.

He didn't really have much competition, so I think he deserved it purely on that basis alone.
Rookies (played min 10 games)
Luke Brooks 20 games
Alex Johnston 17 games
David Fusitua 12 games
Fa'amanu Brown 11 games
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 10 games
Isaah Yeo 10 games

Comes down to Johnston or Brooks if 10 game minimum applies.

DWZ would have been ineligible due to suspension (in NSW Cup), I expect. It cost him 3 games in the top grade.

Wasn't referring to you, and you really haven't responded to what has been put to you on multiple occasions - that Johnston's team mates made him look like a superstar. Tuqiri has looked pretty f**king great too, hasn't he?

It takes a truly special non playmaking position player to win the Dally M or ROTY.

Like the NFL MVP & ROTY QB's RB's win

Like it or not that is the way it is and deservedly so for the most part because of the influence they wield in games
