Didn't watch the game, but Lyon is an excellent goal kicker and he didn't do very well either...seems harsh to lynch Burty for the kicking in light of that, but people need a scapegoat I guess. We did fking well to get as close as we did, why can't people accept that Manly are streets better as a side?

they were gettable kicks in gettable positions. You should kick 2 out of 3 of those kickers if your a decent kicker.

Kickers can have an off tonight that happens, but his defence was terrible and he gives me a heart attack every time a bomb goes up. Not sure why they kicked to Atkins who was very good under the high ball.

Atkins is a better player than him.

Rubbish. Atkins can catch a bomb, but is horrendously slow and has no ability to find the line unless it is gifted to him. He got some balls in good positons tonight and failed to even come close.

A centre at his peak and a winger (right) are all we need once Sandow comes. The rest - especially given the positive noises abour Reni - are fine.

Out of the 400 or so registered NRL players how many play consistently good week in week out for a whole season?
My guess less than 40.
Even El Masri had off days most seasons he played NRL.
Why is Luke Burt being targeted?
If we had a better goal kicking winger than Luke, Burty would already be playing for Wentworthville.
The fact is we don't and he does a pretty good job playing well most games all season.

I'm not a big Burt fan at all - but I agree with ya!

Burt is at his best under the pressure.

Having said that, Sandow is a far superior goal kicker (89%!!) - I'd have him first choice kicker not only because he's better, but also because it keeps him "in the game" - doesn't let him get distracted.
