don't play that stupid game WOE, cause I think you'll find that SK is considerably more unpopular than DA, just ask spartan and Bartman..
??? I think SK has a bit of a cheer squad on here to be honest, so that makes him more popular than DA has been (well at least since 2009).

I personally was a bit more suspicious of SK's credentials than most when he was parachuted into the role, and I haven't seen anything so far that has made me think he's a good/adequate NRL coach. I hope to be convinced soon, just like I hope to be convinced soon that Mortimer has something to offer the top 17...

But that in itself doesn't make SK unpopular on here - far from it! It just means that there's one or two people who have different opinions to that of the majority (some of whom seem to somehow get upset by that)?

I was surprised Mitchell wasn't used until so late in the game, and then only for 15 minutes... he mustn't be impresing SK, in training or on field.

I thought there was merit in making a dummy half swap around 25-30mins into the game, and then again about 15mins into the second half (with the option of throwing an attacking dummy half back out there in the final 10 mins as well, if your are behind and gunning for a win). SK's use of the interchange for dummy halves (among other things) has had me stumped all season.

Keating gets through some defence, but he could temporarily shift into lock to do that and Mitchell can get some more game time when a back rower needs a breather. If spontenaity during a game like that can be accommodated in SK's "structure"...

I just don't get why SK at times uses one benchy (Rogers, MK or Ant) for the final 10 mins only. What's with that ? Do other coaches to this ? Does rotation of the hookers disrupt the team to the extent that you are better to wait for a replacement rather than a interchange substitution ?

I couldn't stop laughing when Burt missed Uate. It was the most inept tackle attempt by a first grade footballer I have ever seen. How this guy survives is beyond me. If he was a 20 yo rookie he would have been dropped weeks ago. Please SK SACK BURT immediately.

well here's a challenge for you WOE, tell me who here bagged out DA?? or is just saying that you're happy with the boards decision still regarded as bagging him out...

In a way, yes. You would only be "happy with the board's decision" if you were not happy with DA's performance as coach. I will always support the Eels, their players and whoever the coach is but I will never be "happy" with that particular decision. I think it was a mistake that will continue to haunt us for a few years yet.

I just find it interesting that SK and DM in particular seem to be protected species in some eyes when it comes to criticism. That's all. Neither of them have proven anything yet but we keep being told to allow them more time or judge them when they have this or have that. I am merely pointing out that there have been coaches and players in the past who had proven themselves to have MUCH more talent and ability but who were bagged (& flicked in some circumstances) as quickly as they were lauded. We are a fickle lot us Eels fans.

It is true that SK does not have much to work with but the board created this mess and the board sacked Anderson with a year to go on his contract promising things would be an improvement this year. If you are "happy" with that, then that's your prerogative.

Luke Burt is another one. How many times has he proven himself to be a match winner for us?? Yet, there are still the short-sighted, reactionary morons calling for him to be sacked when he has an off day.

I'm not happy with the way things have progressed this year at all.
But if you think we'd be any better off under Anderson, than you're having a laugh.
I can see more light at the end of the tunnel than I could this time last year.
Your problem is you want instant success.
The place was in a mess. Our recruitment and retention has been abysmal for years. That's not fixed overnight.
I would have thought, such a Wise Old Eel like yourself, would have had slightly lesser expectations, considering the predicament we were in.

Clearly the laziest player in the comp would be someone who jogged along side his opposing player and made no effort to touch a rolling ball as that opposing player picked it up to score a very soft try and then proceeded to do zilch for the rest of the match. And if that happened in game 1 of State of Origin then that player would surely go down as the laziest footballer if not sportsperson in the world. EVER.

Suity, I do not expect "instant success". I just have an opinion based on what I have observed. Fitzgerald was an ass - we all know that. I am just of the belief that we seem to be getting worse rather than better.

And as far as the Anderson thing goes (& yes, I know we are going round in circles here), I believe it is unfair to judge him on his 2 year tenure under a regime that not only did not want him here but one that limited his input into such things as recruitment. The man is a career coach with a record that most coaches would kill for. He has one ordinary year and the knives come out. IMO he knew from the outset there would have to be rebuilding done at the club but was never afforded the time (or full resources) to do it. Kearney has previously achieved nothing as a first grade coach, has the team travelling worse than last year but at least you can "see more light at the end of the tunnel". Fair enough. I don't share your optimism at the moment. I will be very happy to be proven wrong come next season. We'll see.

Go the Eels.

Maybe you're right, maybe not, either way what's done is done. What's there to salvage from this season or in future seasons if people keep living off what should've, could've or would've?

Suck it up, Parras stuck with Mooks for good or for worse.

Really? I can't remember the last time he played. Although I think he has been dancing in lycra at Saints games.
