It's because of short sighted, half arsed decisions like these.

80% golakickers do not grow on trees.

You do not leave them to languish in PL. You do not let them walk out the door. Halligan and El Masri were not talented wingers, yet how many matches has their kicking won for the dogs? Hodgson is an average kicker, yet when the pressure is really on and he has to kick one from the sidelines - can he do it?

With Luke Covell gone, we are missing that option of an almost guaranteed 2 points.

To let Covell go - young, up and coming, talented goalkicker - and then to retain a useless, inept, craparse winger wannabe like Robert Miles who couldnt get a start at any other club is an absolute joke.

To cap it off we will probably go out and sign some 32 year old has been.

Yeah good luck to Luke, the writings been on the wall this season. The fact that Fitzhenry was in front of him at one stage showed what his future may hold. Still now we do need to find a winger who can play.

Look at Hodgsons kicking in our last hjalf a dozen games.He often gets a perfect record and has consistently been potting them from the sideline.

At the start of the year I was worried,but he is the best kicker in the club atm(yes he is statistically going far better than Luke)so we dont need to keep a player cos he can kick.

Good luck to Luke,he is a wholehearted player.....but the hysteria really is a bore.

Covell wasn't great defensively and lacked pace to be decent as an attacking winger. I don't think it is a loss, and hodgson is a good enough goal kicker.
