A lot of the Rookies who had brilliant debuts in the first round were brought back down to earth in the second so it will be interesting to see how Odwyer goes in his second game and how much pressure Newcastle put on him and how he handles it.

O'Dwyer is going in reverse to all other 2004 rookies

SBW and co had stellar debuts and have gone downhill since and will never return to the same level. :D

O'Dwyer started with a solid but not spectacular debut and will go up and up and win the Dally M Rookie of the year. :)

Isnt it abit early to be talking SOO :|
The writers for The Sundy Mail in Queensland already have Karmicheal Hunt pencilled in for the QLD Origin side.

And what has he done in first grade? I think he has been pretty adverage. I think they started him too early, at 17 i dont think he is physically mature enough to cope with first grade.

17 is very tough to start your 1st grade career

some players do work out from the start like Fittler others take a couple od years to get going eg Burt.

He looked pretty strong and solid out there on Sunday against the Broncs, bit of a Daniel Wagon look-alike only with blonde hair and a good pass & kick on him

   Ive been saying that all along, but everyone thinks im crazy.

He is a top player and I look forward to seeing what else he can do on the field throughout the year.

yes but Tonga isn't a rookie

I'm guessing that Tonga nickname is now Little Willie?

Lets hope he dos not copy his bad habits.

Good on the young bloke, definitely plays above his weight. Seems to be a big fan of Hindy's too. I'm excited for him. Hope he gets a meat pie and a victory in his first game at Parra Stadium!

he was out of his depth tonight

Agree.

The more I see of him I just dont think he is ready for first grade at this stage. Give him another month of 80 minutes of football in Premier League and let him develop a bit. It is not the right option to have him in First Grade at this stage of his career.
