I have read conflicting reports where this movie sits in the Mad Max scheme of things. Some say it's between MMI and MMII, while others say it's a sequel to Beyond Thunderturd.

What disturbs me is a Pommie and a South African cast in the lead roles of a movie set in a post apocalyptic Australia. Derps!!

Geez, I hope this is not a dud.....it has every chance of being one. It will take some doing to pull it off successfully....fingers crossed.

Pretty confident in this tbh. Tom hardy is generally underrated, yet has impressed with a number of his roles (Bane/Charles Bronson/Jack Rose) Should add a lot of energy and charisma to Max's character. Hopefully...

Yeah I was spewin' when I heard Tom Hardy got the gig. But that was way back before Batman, Inception, Warrior, Bronson etc

Now I think he's a good choice.

Why? There are plenty of both here currently

What JW said. We're a very multicultural country now, so it stands to reason that a post apocalyptic Australia would have people who weren't dinky-di Aussies in it

Originally it was going to be filmed in Silverton & Broken Hill but unusual amounts of rain had made the area too bright with flowers and not desolate enough. It's said to be set between 1 and 2.

Looks awesome. Not sure why the hatred for Parra. The same director is writing and leading up the project, and it looks (at least) to be very true to the original version of things in terms of style and setting.

Seems early to write it off just because it doesn't have Mel in it. He'd have been perfect too, since he's legit mad these days.
