Magic Weekend

It's a bit like the Sharks playing games in Adelaide - it's for the money not because anyone's creating a franchise there.

Sorry, I overlooked this bit the first time around; I think the difference is that with the Magic Weekend, most of the fans in the ground have travelled to watch their teams.

With Adelaide, I would imagine the vast, vast majority of the crowd are locals - so even though the game(s) are both there for the money, I think the Adelaide game is a more accurate guage of local support for the sport compared to Edinburgh and hence it's quite useful in that respect.

Sharks fans seem to have trouble crossing the street to watch their own team, let alone a State line.... Sorry, dru. ;-)

I think that would compare well to any of the turnouts for Edinburgh or Glasgow RU this year.

The decision was taken having reviewed ticket operations after the club set a new European crowd record at their 25-14 victory over Leinster on Sunday (29 October). The 5,867 strong crowd was the biggest attendance for any of the 62 Heineken Cup pool matches played in Scotland by Scottish teams to date. Previously, the record was 5,764 set in the 2001/02 competition while Edinburgh's highest European attendance was 5,163 when they played Bath the same season.

Its because of the dumb scheduling of games. The majority of Sharks home games are on a Saturday 7:30. In the middle of winter when you have rain and its 5 degrees and a wind comming off the water... there is a reason Shark park is called Moria. Its credit to the 10,000 diehard fans that make the walk every week despite everything.

Remember thar several years ago Sharks were averaging 13-15k wheer wests and Souths were down at 8k... the crowd stuff goes in cycles in Aus.

Yes, I know. Just having a cheap shot.

It wasn't that long ago that we used to get excited at Parramatta when we got near 10,000...

What a match to end it... right to the wire.

You can hear the KR fans singing along in the background... sounds great.

Galea scores for KR and we're done.

Great advertisement for the code and the English game. :thumn

Nice to see the Warrington supporters applauding. I know I wouldn't be...

Hull KR have gone from second division makeweights to second place in the SL table in a few short years.

Good stuff from them!

Yeah, maybe their coach wasnt so off the mark when he said they could win it this year. Half way through the season and one behind Sts.

I think the playoffs are going to be very interesting this year.

Hull KR look a very handy side, and I have Harlequins as my dark horse to shake things up.
