Somehow I am on a mailing list and get 4 or 5 emails a day to invest in stock markets and stuff. There is no link in the emails to stop them, so does anyone know what I can do?

don't click on opt out what ever you do, or unsubscribe, you'll get twice as many

Do you have a junk mail filter?

I registered about 4 years back now in a yahoo group for lawn mower and small mechanical repairs, I still get replies to every post that is made there despite not having used the site for years... have tried several times to "unsubcribe" without success....they just go straight to my junk mail now.

if you are on outlook, highlight the mail, 1 click -dont open it.
click 'message' on the top task bar
click 'block sender' and bobs yr uncle.

we got 2-3 thousand senders blocked and it works quite well.

get into your isp and stir them up.
