The country as a whole.South African RU or the country as a whole?
How’s that working out?Current teams.
Yeah, absolutely tragic but it was never going to be easy transitioning from an apartheid state to democratic one.The country as a whole.
There's a lot of corruption within South Africa. It's becoming like Zimbabwe.Yeah, absolutely tragic but it was never going to be easy transitioning from an apartheid state to democratic one.
Brisbane Lions are handing out free tickets, despite being grand finalists last year ans sitting at the top of the ladder for years. Attendances are about 27k in Brisbane. TV ratings in Brisbane are about 48k for Lions and around 30k or less for games not involving them. There's a out 34k registered players across Queensland. How’s that working out?
genuine question as I don’t follow Aussie rules.
Hard to argue with any of that. There's a lot of corruption within South Africa. It's becoming like Zimbabwe.
Those who can afford to emigrate are doing so.Hard to argue with any of that.
could get worse before it gets better.
And taking their money with them out of the country. Those who can afford to emigrate are doing so.
No threat to RL but theyve carved out a small niche market.Brisbane Lions are handing out free tickets, despite being grand finalists last year ans sitting at the top of the ladder for years. Queensland has been flooded with immigrants from Victoria over the last 40 years. It has helped the game grow.
I wouldn't want to live there. And taking their money with them out of the country.
I can imagine there’s some real bargains to be had on property in South Africa.
It's taken them several decades and millions of dollars to carve out a small niche. On top of that they had the fortune of being played in Queensland at least twenty years before rugby league was introduced in 1909. Strong interstate immigration trends from Victoria over four decades has definitely helped them carve out a niche. No threat to RL but theyve carved out a small niche market.
Because they always bag off Rugby League be it fans and players.....that sporting isolation of them made them a strange bunch. Why not South Africa?
I've met some really arrogant people from South Africa.Because they always bag off Rugby League be it fans and players.....that sporting isolation of them made them a strange bunch.
Likewise.I wouldn't want to live there.
I think with the broncos, dolphins and to a lesser extent the titans will see RL remain as king in south east Queensland along with potentially another NRL Queensland 5 team in the Brisbane/south east Queensland region. It's taken them several decades and millions of dollars to carve out a small niche. White South Africans?I've met some really arrogant people from South Africa.
There's definitely an appetite for another team in SEQ. I would be surprised if it doesn't get another one within the next decade.I think with the broncos, dolphins and to a lesser extent the titans will see RL remain as king in south east Queensland along with potentially another NRL Queensland 5 team in the Brisbane/south east Queensland region.
Whites and Indians. They are prejudicial against rugby league.White South Africans?
