Mal Meninga- wtf?

I read this article in the paper today in which Meninga says he will use the 'lift' on Steve Price after he was knocked out as motivation for next years' series and he won't "Forgive or forget" it. Wtf? Unless the team he coached played like choirboys in that match (ahem- Jonathan Thurston, *cough* Justin Hodges) what the hell is he on about? He then went on with that "brotherhood" bulls**t some of the Maroons players were going on with after the match to try and justify their thuggish dummy spitting on the field.

Could you imagine Wayne Bennett or even Wally Lewis going on like that or excusing such crap? It's a damn shame Mal had to come out and say that, I thought he was a level above some of the cavemen in the Maroons team and some of the one-eyed people who turned a blind eye to the thuggery from their side. And just when we'd started to forget his "Rugby League has done nothing for me" comment in 1995...

Nothing to do with that Saab- more to do with Mal's form and my dissappointment in him. I always respected him highly until these comments, which make him sound like Thurston and Hodges.

whatever works for his troops...to be honest what poore did to price was disgraceful and i can't beleive so little has been made of it.

I agree Poore's was a stupid act, but Craig Bellamy didn't come out and try and excuse it by going "Thurston kicked Dave Williams in the jaw earlier so it's excusable" etc. etc.

Difference was Thurston was attempting to stop the try being scored - a silly play none-the-less but nothing like Poore's brainsnap. TBF I think Poore regretted doing it, just one of those "heat of the moment" type incidents.

Mal Meninga is the most biased coach i have ever seen. Its amazing the size of the chip on that guys shoulder, considering he had a blessed career and left the game a wealthy man, it seems strange that he harbours so much anger towards NSW. I can remember him complaining a couple of series ago about NSW holding QLD down in the play the ball, it had to by the most hypocritical and stupid comment ever to leave someone's mouth. It just shows the guy has an IQ of a f**king flea, just take a look at his run for parliament that lasted all of 25 seconds.

The only difference between NSW and Qld fans is NSW fans aren't trying to excuse what Poore did as some sort of retaliation for Qld daring to upset the NSW "Brotherhood". Rather have him in the sky blue than a bloke who beats his missus anyway. I'm glad the Maroons took him off us ;-)
