They could only ever play in one other country and they'd see more of the world than an AFL player haha
Make no mistake this will be a huge blow for the VFL in Sydney in trying to grow junior numbers. When the tall skinny kids see the tall skinny soccer players, and realise that they can play all over the world for big bucks, that will then become their game of choice. Vlad will be pulling his hair out in despair.
GWS have a home game at Skoda Stadium on the same night.

Fozsports are saying ManU will be training with GWS AFL team when they get here.
AFL trying to cash in on Soccer, they are such whores.
Very little compared to the hit fumbleball will take.Yeah and RL won't be affected at all.
Has soccer Australia forgotten so quickly how fumbleball done its best to make sure the soccer world cup didn't come to Australia?Fozsports are saying ManU will be training with GWS AFL team when they get here.

Just a question related to this friendly; which other clubs do you all think would sell out ANZ as well (assuming they're at full-strength)?
I'd say Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, City and Chelsea for sure. Probably Milan too.
Final 35 (by fan vote) has been announced:
Thought the idea was to have at least 2 from each club? Only one Heart player.
No Heart player deserves it tbh.
Del Piero bypasses All-Stars for Japan

A three-way showdown is looming between Football Federation Australia, Sydney FC and Alessandro Del Piero over the star forward's availability for the match between the A-League All-Stars and Manchester United at Sydney's ANZ Stadium on July 20.
The 38-year old Italian is being widely promoted as the star attraction for the A-League side but it appears he's unlikely to play.
Instead, Del Piero - and the entire Sydney FC squad - is expected to be preparing for a friendly match in Japan.
Fairfax Media understands that Del Piero's staff have put the final touches on a match for Sydney FC against J-League side Sagan Tosu on July 24.

Del Piero's profile in Japan is enormous. The Serie A - courtesy of trailblazers such as ''Kazu'' Miura and Hidetoshi Nakata - is extremely popular.
In June last year, Del Piero played for Vegalta Sendai in a charity match to help raise funds for those affected by the 2011 tsunami and earthquake. He also put his name to a charity T-shirt drive that raised more than $300,000 for the same cause.
His personal company operates a full-time office in Tokyo and his marketing team has been angling to take Sydney FC to Japan for some time. The Sky Blues' coffers are set to swell by six figures.
FFA chief executive David Gallop hasn't given up hope of Del Piero showing up for the All-Stars.
"The question of availability is something we are working through at the moment. We certainly haven't ruled out any players at this stage," he said.
"The fans have voted strongly to see Alessandro Del Piero in the All-Stars team and that's no surprise. He came with a huge reputation and lived up to it.
"The same applies to Shinji Ono and Emile Heskey. These marquee players are understandably very popular. The fans want to see them in the All-Stars, and so do we."
In addition to Del Piero missing out, Johnny Warren medallist Marco Rojas will be in Europe, most likely after joining Stuttgart, although Borussia Monchengladbach and Werder Bremen remain in contention.
Several Australian players may also withdraw to ensure their participation in the East Asian Cup, which begins on the same night in Korea.
Wellington Phoenix star Jeremy Brockie won't be available for the clash because he's heading out on loan to Major League Soccer club Toronto FC, a club managed by Brockie's former New Zealand teammate, Ryan Nelson.
Meanwhile, Brisbane Roar midfielder Massimo Murdocca has all but sealed a move to Melbourne Heart.
