Not sure if its game of the round.

Chelsea v Valencia was a closer QF Tie last season then Man U v Roma.

Yeah, but Valencia are going to pump the $$$.
If Roma can beat the Scum as well, all will be good in the world.

Chelsea are a shambles. Man Utd match is the pick of the round by a long margin.

I'm a little worried about morale after the defeat to Inter, but before the dumb send off we were slightly better, so it shouldn't be too much of a concern.

Hopefully we are not stupid like last time and attack too much while leaving acres of space for Man Utd to counterattack. Have to pick the right times to push forward and control posession.

Francesco Totti = Absolute choker. Stick to bullying mid table Italian teams, you're no good in Europe mate.

United 1 - 0 (Rooney 70') :D

Backed Man Utd but gee they were lucky not to concede a penalty in the 65th minute when Mancini was taken down.

Their own fault, diving all game, who would give them a penalty? You'd swear Curci and Perrotta were both shot after that corner, at least when Ronaldo went down holding his face he got up with a face full of blood.

Oh wait, I forgot, Italians don't cheat do they :sarcasm:.

Cheating or no cheating, that was a penalty that should have been given.

Happy it wasn't though as I was on Man U.

Please tell me you are trolling?

Totti set up most of our chances including a delighful through ball that was incorrectly ruled offside, a backheel for Giuly, a flick pass beofre Perrotta missed an open goal, plus a couple of dangerous free kicks.

Anyway, a clear penalty denied at OT. Now, where have I heard that before?

And you want to know why Perrotta was down?

The game sprung to life and Rooney's low drive was fingertipped round the base of the upright, but from the corner there was a controversial incident. Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to punch Perrotta on the side of the head before the cross came in.

have not seen the game but report from other forum

- x 1000 worse than Mikel tackle via I can't remember who on Ronaldo - studs raised and dirty scum tackle straight into the upper thigh. not even a caution.
and it have even been Mexes who had already been booked.

- and it's time to say goodbye to Mr.Totti. reckless, deliberate, gutless, pathetic elbow straight into the side of Nani's face. it was blatant. see ya later.
- and the one questionable one - the rugby tactic at the end to ensure finishing the game playing against 10 players. reckless, hard elbow to Ronaldo's face.

Sounds like Roma

LOL.

Tony Palumba was a bit pissed off after the match on SBS.

Which is strange as Palumbo always seems to bag Italian teams.

That was a penalty at any other ground except OT. :sarcasm:

I dont think I've laughed so hard watching SBS coverage than I did this morning when they asked Palumbo a question, and he just snapped something about how it should have been a penalty....and then foster had to talk

If I was you I would be more upset over Roma missing two clear chances in the second half that most other teams would have put away at that level.

Roma missed plenty of chances, but that doesn't change the fact it was a clear cut penalty. Carrick made no attempt to play the ball.

When is the last time an away team was awarded a penalty at OT, just quietly? Never seems to happen.
