And what's the point when nobody who is the equal of Foran and DCE is available.

Sounds like it's someones time to shine!

Perception is reality. The NRL owned Titans getting DCE makes a lot of people upset. Just look at the Cronulla forum and every social media.

And anyone claiming that this is an inside job and the NRL gave them the extra money they need and say things like "conflict of interest" and "corruption" is a moron of epic proportions so I don't understand why you'd place so much weight on the point of view of people who are not only wrong, but idiots to boot.

It's about time Manly spent a few years near the bottom of the ladder.

This will be good for the game.

it's exactly what the salary cap is designed to do, distribute talent, Manly have been very successful for a decade, it's now Parramatta and the Titans turn at success.

Me thinks you pause too long after you insert, but that's another story.

It's manly, everybody hates them, but they don't care....well not until now

It was actually originally brought in to stop clubs going broke. i doubt you were born back then. It was never and should never be a tool to ensure that teams are kept in line with the lowest common denominator. This idea that it should be about teams taking turns for success is ludicrous, success should be earnt through planning, preparation and execution. Parramatta are a great example of a club who have done this with Brad Arthur, however the Titans have failed miserably to do so in recent years. I would not credit the salary cap for the Eels improvements, it is the planning and structures Arthur has in place that is the catalyst. Let's not tell fairytales crediting the salary cap for this.

IMO this signing of DCE is exactly the thing that will keep them at the bottom, paying overs for a guy who is good but not great. Unless a large portion of his contract is through Titans or NRL arranged third party sponsors which is actually not allowed and there are others outside forces who want this to be the Titans turn then not much will change for them.

That last sentence is a passive aggressive doozy.

Translation, Parra signing half of the Manly side=fine.

Titans signing DCE= The worst thing since Superleague

It was designed to ensure both, the financial viability of clubs and a competitive competition, particularly in its current design where the cap is entirely covered by the NRL grant.

Turn was a poor choice of word, I agree clubs still need to earn it through planning and managing a roster etc and the Titans are still going to need to get a lot more things right before they become a realistic chance at a premiership. But the reality of the competition is success is limited, it's not a coincidence that the NRL has had 10 different premiers since 2000.

For the Titans he's worth paying overs, his signing will likely attract other signings as well as the undoubted off field benefits. For other clubs he's probably not quite as valuable.

Great news for Titans, just the marquee player they need to relaunch themselves into a new era.

What a rollercoaster ride for Titans fans over the last 2 weeks!

'I seriously think it has been very un enjoyable since day after gf day 2011.
Sorry but the nrl wants us down the bottom it has become obvious.'
________

But this is my favourite.....

'I enjoy the NBA. Players tend to stay loyal and rarely switch teams- especially mid year. Plus Sportal still stream a game on Friday for free and Game pass is reasonable at almost $300 a year. '
