Mate, I'll tell you exactly where you had the ultimate momentum killer, and it had nothing to do with Chris Ward, but Matt Orford... dead set, the bloke can't reach touch when the game is close with 15-20 to go??? And then he throws two pin point intercepts? They were the momentum killers, make no bones about it, not kicking out on a penalty, two intercepts.

The ultimate momentum killers were the NO try from the video ref, followed soon after by Swann stripping the ball from Menzies with no penalty and a Warriors try resulting from that.

Had those calls been ruled properly, the scoreline would not have been as wide, and the low percentage passes probably wouldnt have been thrown.

Chris Ward's incorrect decision affected their state of mind, and they overplayed every play after that, including the ones you mentioned. I'm sure that you could see that as well. If the game is close, Manly can be unravelled especially if 50/50 plays and loose balls go against them. If they get a fair share of possesion (at leat 50%), they will beat just about every team.

Manly are the worst on the league for running obstruction and holding down the player - but the refs constantly turn a blind eye. Then - the opposition averages 1 penalty every half hour despite the blatant transgressions. For this reason, Manly have had a amssive advantage this year - getting more than 50% of the ball - especially at Brookvale. Proof? the proof is found by actually watching the game.

However, in the heat of the semis, when the likes of Melb and NthQld are in full flight, the refs will be on too big a stage to help Manly out blatantly. Also, as we saw against the warriors, orford under pressure is a liability.

I'm pretty sure Manly will run out the season with 3 sad losses in a row from next week. then Dessie can keep whining until Santa drops in and bitchslaps him quiet.

How were Manly's state of mind after they were gifted 6 points from the forward pass which got them to 10-2 up?

Hasler's motives apart from the obvious video refereeing error, may have been many. With not much riding on the game, I think he came under a bit of critisism for resting key players for the match. Not much talk of that now.

Probably good until the blatant square up about 45 seconds later

If that's all it takes for Manly to drop their nuts, then you blokes are in trouble.

Proof !lol
He just types what the voices in his head tell him to.
Johnsy don't compare Des with that trainwreck you guys have who calls himself a coach. To say that that call didn't change the game is rich.Even the NZ supporters will tell you who was on top and had momentum at that point.
No doubt it was a calculated attack by Hasler.HOping to see the benfit over the next few weeks.

The reasom I compared dessie and brownie is simple. In the doggies game our season depended on that game, the season. You guys had absolutely nothing to lose, absolutely nothing. Yet dessie carries on like a 5 year old who has just had his bag of lollies stolen by his big brother.

If you are telling me manly would have won the game had the try been awarded is laughable. Did you watch the entire 80 minutes ?

Yes, I don't think Manly were that worried about losing either.

I think Dessie was trying to deflect some heat coming from the NRL and other clubs because of his decision to rest those players. He turned it back on them and all talk about Manly fielding an under strength team has magically disappeared.
Thats my take on it, then again he may have actually thought that he could have won the game.
