Dragons fans arent! Our management couldn't organise a hunger strike at a fashion show, no way in hell could they put together secret payments to players!!

WE are here hoping that 15 other clubs will get their points stripped!!!
Our club is that f*cking incompetent, Mary's hair is probably taking up some of our salary cap.

Eels fans thought exactly the same thing tbh....well, that and our team was abysmal.

Sounds like they looked into odd payments suspecting match fixing/organised crime and might have found something else
which is neither illegal or anything they can release to the public or the NRL. Do the same investigation of any club in the country and compel witness testimony and you will get the same allegations.

The article doesn't really say anything!

The whole thing is full of unnamed sources who weren't supposed to disclose confidential interviews and whose disclosures are prohibited to be shared with the NRL. Hence nothing will ever actually be substantiated, or sanctioned.

The most interesting part of the whole article was one line at the end that concedes the match fixing investigation is a dead end. Which I'm sure has nothing to do with the basis of the report or any attempt to justify such an investigation.... nor is it a coincidence that it has come on the eve of an origin decider...

Kate Mclymont is a real investigative journo I doubt she'd write this without genuine knowledge.

Pretty sure she "broke" the story in 2015 about how Cowboys players where being gifted houses, which turned out to be completely incorrect.

So is it Code in Crisis time or just another meh?
meh

they are allegations made by witnesses compelled to answer questions in confidential interviews, which are not illegal and cannot be passed on to the NRL to investigate or sanction. It's like admitting to cheating on your wife after being compelled to answer where you were, knowing your testimony is confidential and she will never find out.... unless you are a public figure and a lot of money and resources spent on the investigation need to be justified somehow, so it manages to make its way into the newspaper by "unnamed sources".
