Seems like Watmough was just thinking out loud! Why she was there? Who freakin knows, wearing a short dress/skirt, thank fully no one went near her, more sex assault claims.

Thats right, how dare she wear something like that! She should be back in the kitchen. We all know that the sight of legs and clevage is reason enough to do what you want to a woman....

](*,)

Why was she there? Well knowing how these functions work, sponsors usually get invited to season launches, she's the daughter of a sponsor who had a spare invitation.

It is understood Watmough told Mr Durazza he should be "embarrassed" for allowing his daughter to attend a rugby league function wearing a short white skirt.

What a douche... Looking at the image of the girl, I cant see how the hell the dress would be considered inappropriate. Watmough recently turned to extremist religion? Way to go, mouthing off at sponsors.

True, but if what the article says is true then I'd have to say the sponsor is in the wrong in this incident, charging at a bloke over a comment like that is way over the top.

I'm not condoning what the sponsor may have done.

But Watmough is a deadset drop kick for saying that about the lady, and more foolishly to her father, who is a sponsor of the club.

Agreed. But imo, if what that article reported is actually what happened watmough is not in the wrong here in terms of assualting the sponsor ect and the sponsor pursueing the matter in the media is him being a douche. Who is worse: idiot, intoxicated footballer making an offensive comment or the guy who gets up and takes a run at him because of it, has to be restrained and then kicked out, but then re-enters and takes another run at him, gets pushed away by watmough (as you would) and then claims he was assualted?

Thats what this article reports, and if that is the case then this entrie matter should be immediately dropped, especially considering the watmough apologised for the comment.

Women should be encouraged to wear short skirts. Guys like Wart-mouth are ruining it for all of us. He's probably just mad he couldn't get any from her.

<H2 id=story>Police have closed Anthony Watmough's alleged assault case
By staff writers
March 11, 2009 New South Wales police have announced that their investigation into the alleged assault by Manly's Anthony Watmough of a club sponsor has concluded with no further action to be taken.
Police have spoken with the man alleged to have been assaulted during Manly's season launch last Friday night, who indicated he did not wish to pursue the matter.

The launch has been the subject of two police investigations this week, with Manly full-back Brett Stewart having already been charged with the sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl.

Stewart has subsequently been suspended by the NRL until round five of the 2009 season.

The victim of Watmough's alleged assault, who revealed himself only as 'Paul', said the alleged incident occurred after Watmough acted inappropriately towards Paul's daughter, who was also at the launch.

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest... Anthony Watmough is a tool of the highest order.

What does surprise me is Brett Stewart and his alleged sexual assault of a 17 year old girl....Hardly seems like the type of guy to do it.

Obviously it is at Manly. I'd think many places would fire the employee and tell the sponsor to piss off we don't need your support, regardless of who started it.

At the very least Manly should show Watmough they take it seriously by suspending him for a few games - like 4. Losing a month's pay might help sink in the idea that you don't fight with sponsors and embarass the club.

But no, Manly are dead keen to sweep it all under the carpet.
