stupid mistakes, stupid penalties, conceding tries from kicks.....flashes of great attacking football.

in other words, same as every other week.

This game is uglier than a room full of Packers.

Our right side defence (Lulia's side no surprise) has been caught short all night.

Great attacking football? Meh, I don't see it.

We need to learn to pass more. I am so sick of seeing the same boring old one hit up from us, I don't think I've ever seen a flash backline movement from us in the past few games. I am not trying to sh*t stir either, I worry about our attack sometimes.

In this game we are making too many errors again, and our goal line defence on the outters is a bit MIA.

Hope we can at least hold it out to a close game :D

Anyone think we have the least dangerous outside backs in the comp?
There's noone that the opposition really has to worry about in terms of individual brilliance, like what Jennings did in the Panthers match.

We are actually ranked number 1 for metres gained in the NRL, and (along with other factors of course - kicking game for one) I feel like the reason we don't score more tries is due to having centres and wingers devoid of natural talent. For that matter, we might've won 2 or 3 more games if our centres could even catch the ball - Lulia and these days Wes..... I'm pretty much over Naiqama as a player to be honest.

and after a great half time lecture, the boys have come out in the second half with a good plan - more stupid mistakes and penalties. that should do the trick.

You know what I don't understand about the team this year, even though they have exceeded my pre-season expectations:

There's just not much fire in the belly. Every time we really, really need a win I get this excited feeling that finally we are going to come out there like raging bulls from the opening minute. We should be so much more desperate for the 2 points than Manly are today, I wanted to see everyone just charging at the line and just giving it to them like it was a grand final.

It all just seems a bit lacklustre sometimes, when our season is on the line right now. If we were just getting outclassed in games then fine, you have to live with that. But we don't get outclassed, we just kind of turn up and go through the motions, get behind on the scoreboard and then fire up for the last 20 minutes and score some great tries but lose in a tight finish.

Our goal line defence was outstanding given the weight of posession and repeat sets on the line.

K-man, you didnt see any charging at the line because we had no ball......

Agree with the rest.

I think there were coaching errors made.

Wes isnt a fullback, we needed some spark so why not throw Uate in there?

McManus was very poor at times, could have been that Lulia left him on his own a bit aswell though.

Very dissapointed, thought we could have done better.

I think it's time to just stick with a Mullen/Dureau halves. Bailey offered nothing but running which he can do as a lock.

Taia was also poor I thought.

I can't argue with that. The try at the end put a bit more respectability into the scoreline.
But I have to admit I left the club with 15 minutes left.

Very proud of the backbone these boys show week in week out. Two or 3 class players short of a premiership we are. Brian Smith has one season left before we bring in a new coach. I guess we can't expect anymore as frustrating as that is to say. Have no idea who will be our next coach. On the subject of coaches it must be said Nathan Brown is making his critics ( AKA the entire St George supporter base) look like morons. Wayne who? Keep up the good work Browny. They are nuffies who actually think their club is worth a s### now. Too bad they have lost the last five grand finals they have played in.

Not ALL Saints supporters champ. Its Brownies time to move on though.

Newie are playing with ticker. Thats a good foundation to have moving forward.

Next week will be a great game. If your blokes come out fast Saints will have a hard night.

See you all at Marathon.

You're kidding right !!!! - Dragons have had the EASIEST of all draws imaginable - Storm, Broncos and Titans minus there 100 players during Origin and injuries - they won't even make the 8

Whats with all the negativity? Usually I am filthy after a loss but I thought considering everything it was a good show.. sure we didnt get the 2 points but it was a very gutsy effort against the top team basically full strength. 28-12 isnt as bad as what I thought it would be... considering they belted Roosters and Cowboys by 30+, 16 points isnt that bad. We had no ball in that 2nd half and only let in 3 tries against a dangerous team.. and our main players missing was always going to hurt us.

While certainly not excited by our play tonight, it wasn't as if we were ever given an opportunity by Manly to get into the game, the half time score flattered us a bit I thought. We didn't get much ball, and when we did get it we were up the wrong end of the field and no energy left after being on the end of numerous defensive sets, regularly on our own line.

I thought our defense in the middle was great until the middle part of the 2nd half where Manly ran away with it on the scoreboard. No surprise with the Simpsons, Royals, Hilders and Houstons there for the most part. Good on them, we were bound to let through a fair amount of points eventually given the possession they had.

Interesting to see the only time Dureau got the ball in a playmaking position tonight he set up a try, I think its time to see some more of him at halfback again with Bailey off the bench to inject his quality for short periods, rather than becoming a tired one trick pony over 80 minutes.

We certainly can beat Saints next week, as others have said their 6 game winning streak hasn't been against many quality teams or players, I reckon they aren't travelling much better than we are right now. The EAS hoodoo is starting to become a bit of a mountain to overcome though...

That seems to be the accepatable thing - running 2nd - whether it's a top 4 or top 1 team doesn't calculate to points - just looking at our draw we are SCREWED - Sorry Bicey but nothing positive really - all year - sure some determination and the like but nothing which enthuses me greatly about the next couple of years either

agreed with a lot of whats been said here to..i think Baileys time has come..need more creativity rather than a bullock like 5/8.i thought mc manus was great..if only he had caught One of those balls last week we would have had a different story
However..lets not kid ourselves...near enuff isnt good enough anymore
We need to kik start this spluttering season to try and find our way into at least 6th spot..and it has to start after this origin crap is over next weekend
