I left the club thinking we were going to get blown out of the water. I missed the last try which added a bit of respectablity to the score.

i think danny wicks is the laziest player i have ever seen... Matt Parsons did more work than him!!! my question is does the bloke even train.... he is slow... does no work and i would like to ask brian smith how he gets a run.....
next game guys... watch him in defense and attack... i had a close look at him tonight. he moves away from the play and goes missing all the time
i would be embarrassed if i were him
what do you guys think?

How surprising to see Sau on the break and a sprinting Wicks full of boundless energy tearing up in support.....

I am glad Sau did not pass it to him.

He spends all game shirking the hard yards to put in a huge effort in the 75th minute to put on a try.

Did the manly trainer EAT toovey?

Donny Singe? You don't know what your talking about. One of the fittest little men alive !
Unless your talking about a water runner, and admin assistant....but don't let the facts get in the way of a good story my friend.

While certainly not excited by our play tonight, it wasn't as if we were ever given an opportunity by Manly to get into the game, the half time score flattered us a bit I thought. We didn't get much ball, and when we did get it we were up the wrong end of the field and no energy left after being on the end of numerous defensive sets, regularly on our own line.

I thought our defense in the middle was great until the middle part of the 2nd half where Manly ran away with it on the scoreboard. No surprise with the Simpsons, Royals, Hilders and Houstons there for the most part. Good on them, we were bound to let through a fair amount of points eventually given the possession they had.

Interesting to see the only time Dureau got the ball in a playmaking position tonight he set up a try, I think its time to see some more of him at halfback again with Bailey off the bench to inject his quality for short periods, rather than becoming a tired one trick pony over 80 minutes.

We certainly can beat Saints next week, as others have said their 6 game winning streak hasn't been against many quality teams or players, I reckon they aren't travelling much better than we are right now. The EAS hoodoo is starting to become a bit of a mountain to overcome though...
Yes what was the go there? We were crying out for another playmaker all game and we left one sitting on his arse for just about the entire game, on he comes and we score off one of his kicks., and please I know I've been on his case but Wicks??? he is a passenger out there, the props playing reserves must be wondering what mystery talent Smith sees in this bloke. Don't tell me he's a good impact player, the only impact he makes is with the ground when he lumbers on.

Let me start by saying I did not watch the game last night however, listened to Peter Peters and Greg Hartley on 2KY this morning.

They had David Riccio on, I think he is a journo with the telegraph. Riccio gave the Knights a big rap and said that Manly only just did enough to win. He also pointed out that the Knights are likely to be a side that may cause top 8 aspirants a few dramas in the run in to the finals.

Peter Peters echoed these thoughts and gave the knights backhanded compliments.

Now if you know or listen to Peter Peters you would know his involvement with the Manly club and his hate of Brian Smith but he gave credit where its due.

I guess there are signs that the team is coming along, but it still scares me next year when we have no Buderus.

Whats with all the negativity? Usually I am filthy after a loss but I thought considering everything it was a good show.. sure we didnt get the 2 points but it was a very gutsy effort against the top team basically full strength. 28-12 isnt as bad as what I thought it would be... considering they belted Roosters and Cowboys by 30+, 16 points isnt that bad. We had no ball in that 2nd half and only let in 3 tries against a dangerous team.. and our main players missing was always going to hurt us.

It's not negativity I dont think, I can see the boys trying every game but it's more the fact that we have played pretty much every game the exact same way. Look promising but cant finish off a try, dropping eays balls and giving away dumb sh*t penalties. I mean your suppose to learn from your mistakes why the hell do we keep doing the same crap? we wont make the eight now that game killed our chances, but I would like to see the boys atleast play a disciplined game of footy before the season is out.

I think our side has improved out of sight in 08... you just have to look how competitive we have been in all our games this season. Last year we had a team who played with no heart and no passion and as a result got belted in so many games. We lost the respect and the toughness we once had and were known for. 2008 was always about getting that back and continuing our rebuilding phase. I believe we have got the respect back, we have got our passion back and are playing with heart..

Regarding last night's game, I watched the after match comments and Des Haslers comments said it all..

"I was a bit nervous coming into this game.. we have now played them twice and i'm glad they are out of the way" - Huge compliment there imo
