Manly vs Canberra - Brookvale

It certainly wont be the beating we copped last season, and canberra certainly wont win this one.

with an untried coach and losing their core of experienced players in the off season, the raiders are a shadow of the team they were last season and are going to stuggle. They are missing the blokes that pulled them through so many of those close games last season.

they might take a scalp of two this season, but wont make the 8.

manly will win this one, but not by much

What a lot of people seem to think is that because we have lost these players that we are going to be worse off, but instead, the side will be playing a completely different brand of footy that these new players would be more accustomed to (carney, zillman, dobson)

It'll be a close game, but im not going to say who I think will win, Ill wait and see, because, in rugby league, no matter what club you are, nothing is for certain

i really enjoyed watching their run into the finals last season, but i cant shake the feeling that with so many new players, a new coach and a lack of depth and experience will hurt them. they also need some strong leaders, you cant lose important players like smith, shif and woolford and be back to normal next season. sure, they might be playing a different brand of football this season, but no matter what type of game you play you need strong leaders on the park. the only one i see for the raiders is tounge.

i see this season as being a big rebuilding one for the raiders, hence, why i think they will struggle and lose at brookie. will still be a good game though i reckon.

I'm coming up to the game from Canberra. Do you guys think this game will sell out? Is it worth buying a ticket before hand or just get one when I rock up?

might be a good idea to get a ticket before the game. probably wont sell out, but the queues at the ticket booths will be pretty huge.

We were pretty ordinary. Happy with the win but it's hard to get excited about that. Canberra gifted us about four tries. I was happy with the fowards though, Stewart had a very good game, and the props did well, and that includes King.

Thanks Victor, dreadful game by the Raiders and not great by Manly. Should be a lot of improvement in both teams.

I thought we did well considering we lost Menzies and Matai for most of the game and had orford play the last 20 on one leg.
Glenn Stewart was very good IMO
