O'Connell must have been a hell of a player - Cliffy Lyons was an unbelievably magic ball player. I loved watching him play.

Question for Manly fans - how would you rate the Iro boys? I always thought the Iros, particularly the beast Kevin, and of course Matty Ridge went very well for Manly. Your thoughts?

How did the likes of Craig Hancock, Robert Miles, Ross Windschuttle, Sean Townsend and Kane Cleal miss out ?? 60 yrs of attempting to buy comps and that is the best they come up with. Interesting to note how many they made and how many they bought ain't it. Gary Winter must also be considered unlucky to have missed out. Good to see the soulless BK making the most soulless ever side for the most soulless ever club after 37 games. Wonder if Manly fans will serenade him on a farewell lap of brookvale as if he sold Big Leagues by the main gate from the time he was 8.

Good to see arko there. He could help with any cap problems, ref problems etc that the side may have needed to help get them over the line a la thee good old days before manly were usurped by easts in the `attempting to buy comp' stakes

Unlike other clubs (eg Penrith 40 year team), Manly did not announce a list of nominated players who were to be considered for the 60 year team.

The judging panel (Ken Arthurson, Kerry Sibraa, Ian Heads and Phil Rothfield) drew up their own shortlists when considering each position, but these lists were never made public.
