they will make the 8, but yes they have a tough run home

i wouldnt right off brookie yet, do so at your own peril.

Note that the broncos havnt won at brookie since 1993.

Interesting Manly now haven't beaten Canterbury at Brookvale in 8 years :D

I doubted the Warriors could make the 8 until yesterday. Any team that has beaten the Broncos twice must be doing something very well. They've competed in just about every game and if they make Ericsson a fortress for the rest of the season and pick up an away win or two then they'll make the 8.

Manly should still make the 8 but the top four is a big ask. Now the Brookvale record has been broken the aura of invincibility at home is gone.

MY TOP 8 Prediction

Broncos
Eels
Cowboys
Sharks
Dragons
Manly
Melbourne
Bulldogs

I'll revise this properly later if someone can tell me where I can calculate a what if ladder.

At this stage I'll say the Warriors, Roosters, Raiders and Tigers will just miss out. Of course Penrith will miss out for sure but I'd like to see us provide some nuisance value and show some heart for a change. It would be great if we could say help ruin the Roosters season. I am an anti-Rooster fan even more so now that Penrith suck and won't make the finals.

I wouldn't rule the Warriors out yet, we're only two points off the pace, at close to full strength (only missing Price) and starting to fire. If we can gain one win on the teams immediately above us then our for and against will come into play which will help us as it's superior to most of the teams around us.

The Warriors deserve more raps. Much improved effort after a diabolical 2004 season. Could easily be much higher but have lost too many close games. Inconsistent in terms of results, but consistently competitive in 2005.

Warriors are an Enigma. At their best they could beat any team on any given day. However at their worst they are close to the worst side in the comp.

In regards to a previous post moaning about Manly's injury problems. Are you joking, you have no where near as many injuries as most teams in the comp.

Warriors have a chance, dont know how much of a chance though. Currently on 16 points with a bye in hand, so thats 18 without any wins. Their next 4 rounds will prove vital against cowboys (during SOO, SHOULD be winable), Dogs, Roosters and Raiders. Followed by Penrith, Eels, Storm, Knights and then Manly right before the bye.

Say the cut off is at 28 points, needing 5 wins to make the 8. Cowb's, Penrith and Knights should provide 6 points.

Ill lay it on the line, if the warriors win 2 of their next 4 matches they will make the 8, if not then its all up in the air.

are you kidding me? okay its not as bad as the knights injury crisis, but with the game against the tigers, our entire usual forward pack will be missing bar one, plus pretty much all our back-ups. considering manly's game is based on our forwards being agressive and making lots of metres and that, its pretty bad for us

LOL you're missing Watmough through injury, don't f**king dare whinge about your "injury toll".

Kenners and Menzies are 1 week Origin layoffs, Kite should be suspended. That's all.

Canterbury are still missing Mason, Tonga, Williams plus more and still we managed to nail your full strength side to the wall at Brookie.

Quit whinging. If you can't hold it together while Choc Watmough is out then you're screwed come the second week of September.

Daniel Heckenberg, Jason King, Kylie Leuluai and luke williamson have all been out and were all crucial to our good start to the year. Being such an inexperienced side, we are not used to such a toll and it really exposes our lack of depth.

As opposed to us, who've had to blood completely inexperienced players on an almost weekly basis and still have a number of stars to bring back. We're doing exceptionally well and are definitely on the comeback trail. you guys are falling.

Well Heckenburg and Leuluai are just as important to our team as O'Meley et al. It's a funny thing, if we started like sh*te and stomred home to clinch position eight, we would be cheering, but if we happen to sit top four for all but the last handful of rounds and slip down to sixth it is a mjor dissappointment.

Look at our backline Dodge, we have a pretty basic team there.

I would be lying if I said the thought had not crossed my mind in the last 2 weeks about Manly missing the 8. Its a worry!!! Hope we get a couple of wins in the next 3 or 4 games to take some pressure off.

Everyone says that, but it's not really true (this year), because even at their worst this season they've still been competitive and most of their losses have been fairly close. they've been consistent, but the problem is they've only been consistently competitive, rather than consistently GOOD. basically if they lift their game a notch or so those close losses become close wins, and they're in the finals.

I'd love to play Manly at Shark Park in the first week of the finals and send them crashing out. We don't win at Brookvale and they never win in Wooloware.

Just keen to bail ASAP out of that sh*thole.

This Friday -

Heckenberg (injured)
King (Injured)
Williamson (Injured)
Watmough (Injured)
Hill (Always more than likely)
Menzies (SOO)
Kennedy (SOO)

And rumor of Stewart out with a groin injury.

Eight starting players including essential players out..I'm not confident at all.
