yes not good to see the big fulla pull up.
He kept looking for work even after that, but hopefully it was a precautionary move after halftime.

It looked more precautionary ..? Obviously he was limping, but when required he could still put on a medium range jog I guess. Being a different injury, hopefully he's ok for this week. Having said that, Ropati was excellent on the wing and seemed to form a good combo with Brown.

Blockbusting Warriors wing Manu Vatuvei could be set for another lengthy spell on the sideline after he suffered a serious leg injury in the 24-12 victory over the Cowboys at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday.

Vatuvei was making his comeback from a reoccurring hamstring injury.

A post-match x-ray cleared the Kiwi's wing of a break and further scans next week will reveal the extent of the damage.

The latest complaint, which is located between the ankle and knee region on his left leg, occurred 14 minutes into the first half.

Vatuvei was clearly distressed, but he hobbled around until the 45th minute before finally being replaced.

That's a fair bit of scope right there.

Ironically just discussing Manu's propensity to injury throughout his entire career on another board yesterday.

Yup, I said something similar in another thread here a few weeks back. I believe he has suffered at least one significant injury every year since 2005, and ALL leg injuries.

He was limping well before the 14th minute. I thought he was injured the first time he caught the ball.

went to a members meeting last week and someone asked Dean Bell about the serious injuries we seem to cop early and he said it was totally bad luck.

No fracture for Vatuvei
Yahoo!Xtra Sport - May 17, 2010, 5:27 pm
A CT scan today showed no sign of a leg fracture for New Zealand Warriors winger Manu Vatuvei.

The scan result follows an x-ray on Saturday night which also found no evidence a fracture after Vatuvei was replaced 44 minutes into the club's 24-12 Heritage Round victory over North Queensland at Mount Smart Stadium.

Vatuvei, who was returning from a lay-off with a hamstring injury, was troubled by a left leg injury after being caught in a multiple tackle 14 minutes into the match.

"Manu had a CT scan this afternoon which, like the x-ray we had done on Saturday night, showed no sign of a fracture," said Vodafone Warriors doctor John Mayhew.

"That means it's all good news so far but, if the leg doesn’t settle down, we may need to look at having an MRI scan done later in the week."

Vatuvei missed several games in 2008 with a spiral fracture in his left fibula.

that's a good part of his game that helps the Warriors go forward. If he can't do that, he shouldn't be on the field.
