I know who id want to sign... Van der Vaart. He is bloody awesome and only 19 or so. I saw a goal he scored against Feyenoord on the weekend and it is one of the best individual goals i have seen in a while. Go on Fergie...sign him!
Bloody oath. Out of every player in the world, VDV is probably 2nd only to Raul in who I would love to have at Man Utd.

He's 20 at the moment, and I give him four years until he is the best player in the world.

VDV scored 18 goals in 21 games last season I believe, which is incredible since he isn't even a striker. Plays more like Scholes in behind the strikers, except is a bigger goal threat.

Man Ure have made no bids for Viduka. As per usual the media is talking out its arse.

Do you refuse to believe all reports until it actually happens (or if it happens)?

The thing is he is free to play in the CL.

Apprantly Leeds have said Alan Smith isnt going anywhere and if he did they predict a roit to take place :!:

He is an awesome player, can you imagine the MAn Utd midfield in a few years time with him in there alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, and Darren Fketcher

Back to the topic, I think Viduka would be the wrong player to sign for Utd, he's too much like van Nistelrooy, but just not as good. There's a 19 year old playing for Ajax who has played well alongside Van Nistelrooy for Holland before, his name is Wesley Schneider. He's a goalscorer but is different in style to Van Nistelrooy. Schneider is more in the Raul/Del Piero mould, he's a dead ball specialist, very quick, good dribbler and is the type of player who can take the ball pass 3 defenders and slot the ball home. Also if Man Utd want Raul, well they're not going to get him, but the next best alternative would be Fernando Torres who has been constantly compared with Raul at the same age.

Mateja Kezman is another player Man Utd are getting linked with alot over the past few days. Great player but i doubt that he would sign during January as he has played in the CL. Maybe a summer signing, i dunno.

I saw Schneider just once, but he was impressive. I've been watching a bit of Ajax lately, mostly for VDV but also to see Trabelsi, Ibrahimovich and Schneider. Unfortunately, VDV has been suspended, and both Trabelsi and Schneider weren't playing in some of the games.

Kezman is an interesting one. All the reports both from him and PSV point to him leaving in the January window. Ourselves and Barca seem to be his preferences, and he said that Liverpool would be a good option if none of his big five (uncertain who the other three are?) attempt to sign him. Very good player, but once again the question is how would he go with Ruud? They played together at PSV for a couple of months before Ruud moved to us and I think they did pretty well, but with us playing with only one striker it is doubtful that he would come to play second fiddle. He's not the type who could play deeper, so could only play when we rest van Nistelrooy or on the rare occasions we play 4-4-2.

Does anyone rate Trabelsi, apparently he's leaving Ajax on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Tabelsi is another guy I've only seen a few times, he was quiet the first match but very good in the next one. He's been rumoured to be joining Man Utd (but then again, who hasn't? ).

Offensively he is very good, but unlike many wingbacks like that (Carlos, Cole) he seems to also be good defensively.

I read on Soccer Net that David Beckham would love to have RVN at Real Madrid.

Ronaldo said he would welcome him at the club although their manager wasnt so sure on the idea.

And there would be no chance of that happening unless they asked for Ronaldo in return.

If I were to sell him I would want their best striker (assuming he is one of the best in the world) in return.

In other words - Raul. Stuff Ronaldo, on his day he may be awesome, but he's inconsistent, injury prone, and I don't think Fergie is a big fan. Whereas Raul is incredibly consistent, a great team player, a known fan of Fergie, and Fergie believes he is the best player in the world.

A swap with Raul is in my opinion the only possible way that Ruud would leave Old Trafford. And even that I don't think Fergie would agree with unless there was a sizeable cash deposit as well.

The only reason Leeds would sell Viduka is if they went into administration and were forced to sell him. We dont have any other strikers of Mark's quality, (Smithy is tenacious and a solid finisher, but can't hold the ball up, and Bridges god bless him i dont think will ever be able to recapture his form prior to his injury) and we havent got a goal scoring midfeilder. Even if offered a good price, strikers of Viduka's expereince are too expensive for Leeds.... (jim brown playing for Blactown under 8's is too expensive for Leeds, but you get the point! :( )
