The Kiwi's have a habit of making big blokes into 5/8's. I'd say that is more his posuition than halfback for sure.

I believe this Marcus Perenara chap will be a big prospect for us next year, Could also be a Five-Eighth for us if Morris isn't going too well.

That's a good size 5/8 - I wouldn't say he's OVERLY heavy though

Anasta weighs 96
Barret 92
Craigie 100
Campese 102 (played earlier in the year for Raiders)
Fittler 96
Bird 96
Hill 92
Buettner 94 (yeah right... fatty Buettner might be listed at only 94 but we all know he's a few more...)

Most 5/8's are in the 90+ kilo range - good to see that we've got a youngster coming through who fits into the category!!

His weight has been an issue at the Warriors...

"Anderson was impressed with the progress Lauaki, Anderson and Perenara had made in off-season training. Perenara returned to training well over weight but has been working hard to shed the extra kilograms. "He's been working hard since Christmas," Anderson said. "He'll be the first to admit that the more weight he loses the more things he can do in the game." He said he expected big things from the youngster. "He played in the trial last year and then got hurt," he said. "He hasn't played much in the last two seasons because of shoulder injuries. "Hopefully he'll have an injury free-year."

You might be interested to know I saw him playing Bartercard Cup last weekend. He was just coming back from an injury lay-off, and frankly he looked off the pace. He was playing lock, and the most noticeable thing about him was his enormous gut. All he did was stand and pass.

Interesting in that respect, however, if he has only recently returned from injury I'd give him the benefit of the doubt until after the off season. If he is still carrying the pud and it effects his game then we have a worry on our hands. Until such time the jury is out on his arrival.

Thats what pre-season is there for, Hopefully he can stay injury free running up until the start of next season and have a full preseason with us.
