If it aint broke why fix it? Oh yeah..it is broke.

Hahahha. I'm sure Wally Waldron said the same thing for a number of years aye?

Gasnier bashing is laughable at best. One game and the detractors are out. If we want to win not only this premiership and more in the next couple of years we need a right-side centre like Gasnier. End discussion.

he looked sharp and quick...but he is much skinnier than when he left.

I think long term he will prove to be a great addition to the side...however for this year I am yet to be convinced...think his addition might change what we have been building not necessarily for the better.

I'll be buggered before I second guess Bennett. I'd daresay he's not going to cry tears of blood about being beaten by 4 points by the second placed team.

Gasnier and the team needed that game; better now than in the finals.

It was actually good that he had an ordinary game first-up, it will get his head in the right space and start to reduce all the pressure/attention/expectation on him.

Last night he was fired up (it was a big moment), the opposition was lining him up every time, fans were going off, he was trying to pump up the guys, but its going to take a while before he relaxes and feels at home in league.

I wasnt a big fan of spending the $$$$ on him, but the deal is done now, lets get on with it =)

First game back in conditions that were completely unsuited to his game. Surely you considered this before posting.

^This. Clearly Bennett has been involved with Gaz's resigning for a while. He clearly has a plan and none of it involves sentimentality or paying too much for labradors.

Like how you broke the salary cap?

Melbourne Storm stripped of premierships for salary cap breaches

"The elaborate lengths that they went to to hide the payments was quite extraordinary," Gallop said. "These payments have allowed them to recruit and retain some of the best players in the game. There's no alternative for the NRL in terms of penalty."

Gallop said that the club had run a long-term system of "two sets of books".

Storm and former chief executive Brian Waldron, the architect of the salary cap breach according to John Hartigan.

Because a player of his standing commands it. Plus there's no way the NRL would register a contract if we're paying him a pittance.

Are you some sort of genius or something that thinks you can out-think Bennett
You bag Cooper, you bag Gaz and you appear to know little

C’mon fella it’s not just an opinion. There’s bile in your belly there. I was of the opinion that you were younger by the level of invective that you display but as you afford Coops the same level of derision as you do Gaz it can’t be based on his “disloyalty” in leaving the club.

Expressing an opinion doesn’t need to be spewed out and you were wrong regarding Gaz' payment details. His $300k (ish) is about right if he reproduces his old form which is feasible or if he gets close to it in attack and improves his defence under Bennett’s tutelage. His 3rd party arrangements would not readily afforded to lower profile players as they offer less by way of ROI to potential sponsors. By all means say that you don’t think he’s going to work out or Bennett may be wrong on this one but your spray IMO was a little out of line, so I said so.

Gaz left the club BTW for very valid reasons and came back for valid reasons. Let’s hope in combination with Bennett and the new culture at the club, that he can be an asset and helps us achieve a few premierships

As far as you’re concerned; welcome (albeit belatedly). There are some really interesting characters in this place; all with an uncommonly disproportionate love of the mighty Dragons

Cheers!
