They're not escape clauses, they are unilateral options to extend, whether their club wants to keep them or not. Harry Grant recently activated his for this year: https://www.melbournestorm.com.au/news/2024/10/23/grant-confirms-option-to-play-2026/

A few years earlier, Christian Welch was going to join Parra until he snapped his ACL. So instead he activated his PO to stay at Melbourne rather than be without a club: https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/01/30/welch-takes-la-lakers-tips-after-cruel-acl-contract-blow/
But it’s fine when they do it.

In your opinion ffs there is no metric to say we would have gone better or worse under another HOF.
Of course it's my opinion. Just like it's your opinion that MON has been a failure. How good would we have gone with anyone else, and where's your proof?

Well we can actually tell if MON has been a failure over his time.. So not really my opinion.

Plus I also said we cant make up things that didn't happen like someone else as the HOF..

Merkins trolling me and then whinging when I reply? Yes it is very frequent.
Serious question: do you have an impairment or neurological diversity?

I am starting to feel you may have Asperger’s or a similar condition and that it may require a different level of understanding with you.

How? Could anyone else have done any better? If so, where's your proof?

It's not that if anyone could have done it better its if he has been good at his job for the past 8 years.
What has the club got to show for it?
Apart from Sam Tuivati what junior has come through in the past 5 years thats playing consistently in the NRL.

Who has he signed? (That was actually wanted by his current club)

Pretty sure we all know that the football program is pretty shit compared to other clubs.

It depends what his KPIs are. Do you know what they are or just making up your own?

I think it's average compared to other clubs. We have won half our games ffs, with a very hard draw thus far.

Yes I have my own KPIs

It's average with the poor teams probably even worse than the Dragons...

Yay half our games with over 38 points per game against..

Yeah he asked a question which i answered in the same post... he really is stretching
Your answer is self-referencing. You think he's failed, therefore the proof is that he failed. It might be proof enough or you, but I look at data, and the data says we have a solid record since MON joined the club. I get that your view is premiership-or-GTFO, but is that what GMs are responsible for? What about the CEO? What about the board? Why have you jumped from blame-Arthur's to blame-MON? Why not take it all the way to the top? Who put this board in place ffs? We need to sack those merkins.

Whoever they are

Do we even know what MON's role is? He doesn't appear to have as much autonomy or influence as HOFs at other clubs.

If we want someone to come in and do a better job I'd suggest the role of HOF needs to be more significant, otherwise we'll just get another ineffective lump.

I suspect senior management and the Board might be scared of doing this as it could impact on their cushy existence.

Could you imagine Sarantinos dealing with someone like Gould? Gus would wipe his arse with him.

Very good points.

And until we make that change, we will continue to strive for mediocrity.

I think @Delboy has mentioned previously that we have good administrators, in the sense that they can ensure we are fiscally in the black, grow our Memberships, etc. - but they don't care about the football side of things, as long as they hit their KPI's.

Supporting a coach to bring on-field success should be a non-negotiable.
