He was one of my early favs & I was there both games in 77 so it will be a special occasion for me at the ground, Sat 12th March.

Back in 1976/77/78 Mark Shulman was my favourite player by miles. I vaguely recall seeing him upend Artie Beetson in a beautiful front-on tackle and I was at Leichardt in '78 to see what turned out to be his last game in First Grade, when we dusted Balmain 45-14.

In my eyes, a true Saints legend.

RIP, Mark.

Had a Great double side step courageous little player. Good player to have Billy Smith play reserves and yes Ray Higgs and Co got what they deserved in the replay with Rocket Stoney Young and Co bashing the shit out of them " pardon my french".

It was a great pack "Bath Babes" and not to down play Starkey and Jensen who's career was also cut short by a knee injury. They were taught by Harry the English Ball playing way with the Australian toughness- it was ok for front rowers to put in a grubber or chip near the line. Great pack

Slip I was there for the replay and remember the crowd going berserk when he came out onto the field ,, we lifted parra tried to hide . anyway I think round 1 will also include a tribute to another immortal in Norm Provan

Several years ago at QLD Dragons function they interviewed Albert Young and he was asked what was the game plan in the replay his reply was Shulman was kneed in the back in the 1st gf so the game plan was to remind them of it and how.

Is this factual? There was a report in February of this year that he had died but no actual day of that month was given and people were enquiring whether or not he actually passed away.

I can't see anything on the internet Johnno so must have been on the news about an hour ago. If so, rest in peace Mark and deepest sympathies and condolence to his family and friends.
