Marshall lasts four minutes

WESTS Tigers star Benji Marshall has left the field just four minutes into their first- round NRL clash with St George Illawarra after an apparent knee injury.
Marshall fell to the ground clutching his left knee after throwing a pass.

He left the field shortly after, complaining the joint felt unstable and has been taken into the dressing rooms.
Marshall will not return for the rest of the game and will be sent for scans tomorrow.

It continues a horrific injury toll for the 23-year-old, who has endured four shoulder reconstructions since making his debut in 2003.

Tigers officials fear Marshall has torn his anterior cruciate ligament, which would require a season-ending knee reconstruction.

 good one.

I think most girls would be happy with 4 minutes tho.

As they should be
I wonder if fui fui lasts as long in the cot as he does on the field
3 hard runs then over and out ...

6 Weeks Fui Fui And We Have Plenty Of Depth. Roll on 2008

Mate is it official it is 6 weeks or are you guessing? 6 weeks would be a medial ligament and they keep talking about ACL.

I think its PCL, posterior cruciate, which Im assuming is a ligament at the back of the knee and nowhere as serious as the ??anterior??

On the official site Sheens rules out ACL and says he's having scans tomorrow (Tuesday). Also ruled out surgery. Won't know until tomorrow but if it's a posterior cruciate they say a minimum 6 weeks. ACL is a season.

TBH, I'd be happy with him out for 12 weeks as long as it's not the season and he gets himself back to full strength.

In all honesty guys I think the universe is trying to tell the kid to find a new vocation. There is no doubting he has talent but the injuries he has suffered over the last couple of years have been diabolical. I really feel for the bloke, it must be mental hell to be struck once again with a long term injury.

MARSHALL OUT FOR 8 TO 10 WEEKS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wests Tigers five-eighth Benji Marshall will be out for eight to 10 weeks following scans today on his injured left knee.

Club doctor Donald Kuah said the scans confirmed the initial posterior cruciate ligament diagnosis.

“It is important to note there has been no cartilage damage to the joint,’’ Dr Kuah said.

“There are no other injuries or ligaments sustained in the joint.

“With regards to this type of injury, there are other players in the league who have played many years with the injury.

“It is an injury that we can do rehabilitation work on.’’

I think we should look at getting Medibank to sponsor us, they'll get their money back pretty quickly with Benji in the line up
