If Hayne did this id be wanting him out ASAP! Yeh the season is gone but he still has games to play for us and you would like to think he will out in 100% till the end of his contract.

Benji claims he loves the tigers but this is a huge slap in the face of the club and the clubs supporters

Poor means of delivery for whoever it was aimed at (and it was clearly aimed at someone/a group of people).

He should've been a man and got his payback face-to-face with whoever he had beef with at the club (i.e., a board member, Potter, a fellow player(s), whoever).

Going on the Internet and doing it in front of your loyal fans is dumb and cowardly.

He's a bitch forever now.

Some people are just massive drama queens. I don't think it was a good idea but geez he sticks up for Potter in that interview and the drama queens conveniently forget to talk about that point.

His brand is ruined and his credibility is shot. Anything he says now is purely to salvage whatever is left of his shattered reputation. Of course he'll say he gets along with Potter, he'll sprout anything he can to try and paint himself in a good light (he didn't want to leave the club, loyalty, pay cuts etc...)

Tigers fans aren't exclusively pissed about this, it's happened before (Wing/James when he moved to the Heat etc,) and is largely seen as poor form and disrespectful towards fans and sponsors when you don the colours of another club whilst still contracted to another.

Poor timing really, what Benji does once his existing contract ends is his business, this however is just a publicity and marketing stunt for him and his next employer with no respect shown for NRL or WT.

If he joined the Broncos you wouldn't see him holding up a Broncos Jersey, it's okay if it's not an NRL team?????
The quick answer is no

i'm amazed he hasnt been dropped. seems despite him leaving he still runs the joint and officials are scared of him.

look at farah bust his arse every time he's on the field and compare it to this prima donna living off past glories and expecting a million a season

what a waste - took him 11 years to build his reputation to where it was, now ruined in the space of a few weeks.

not smart.

So only certain players? The only way I could see myself at being annoyed at something like this would be if the player was signing with a rival NRL club. Johnson could go and sign with Highlanders tomorrow and wear their jersey at the press conference and I wouldn't care.

he was a marquee franchise player - you know, the type you put on your avatar?

a lot of people listen, watched, followed, & admired him.

He's f**ked up his reputation big time, I'd say bigger than SBW.

I dont consider Johnson, Locke or Ropati  franchise players. No one would.

In new Zealand Johnson could be a franchise player. He's probably the only one in the warriors who has the skill and possibly the look to be a poster boy like Benji and Hayne is for their clubs. Lots of young kiwi kids who like league would aspire to be like him now that Benji is not in the NRL

I don't get the big deal, I've seen quite a few press conferences etc in other sports where players hold up a jersey/pose with one of the club they have signed up for. I think this is just a small point for Tigers fans to go have a massive bitch and let more frustrations out really. I'd rather players didn't sign for another club more than a season out rather than worry about them wearing another jersey in an interview a few games out from the end of a season for a team in another code, it's not even a rival team.

He is still on our pay roll, he still has around 50k to earn from the club to rock up and impersonate a footballer. We are still picking him in first grade for the purpose of helping him achieve a personal milestone. The least he could do is act professionally and fully commit to the club for the last few games of his tenure. When he first signed I felt as though we should let him play out the year, now if he was demoted to NSW Cup orange peeler I wouldn't feel as though we're disrespecting him, he has shown that he is truly all about Benji.

Oh lets be fair......

NOW - I havent been a Benji fan for some time. Obviously his mind has been elsewhere for years.

BUT - we arent picking him for the milestone - the simple fact is that the NRL hasnt given us a choice in regards to exemptions.

I think its more laughable that he thinks he's going to play for the All Blacks - hes not even close on present form.

I seem to remember when Hodgo signed with us from Parra there was a pic of him in a tigers jersey when he was out injured but still with parra. I don't see the big deal.

The club just looks bad then...

Our seasons done.

As it stands only Marshall is looking bad, with every game his brand value lessens...good on the club for keeping it that way

Yeah but lets be honest, this is more about his form than anything. If had played good footy this season no one would care about him wearing a Union jersey in an announcement. When I saw the interview I didn't even think twice about it. Such a trivial little thing in mind being used to get frustrations out about other things.

It's his attitude, it reeks of entitlement and narcissism. Watching him for the last month or so, he clearly doesn't care. If he was putting in on the field then you'd forgive him. This basically confirms what everyone is suspecting. He craps on about how much he loves the club, yet he does not put in on the field and promotes a rival code off it, whilst earning a massive wage for his (lack of) efforts. When he left the club I felt those who boo him at games were out of line, whilst I don't think I'd boo him now, I would understand those who do.

If it was a rookie or a dense veteran you could write it off as naivety, but Benji isn't either of those, he knows exactly what he's doing. This was just giving Potter and Mayer a big middle finger.

The jersey/video incident is just one part of the very reason why he's not playing good footy.

Its all related.

THAT is the point
