Question needs to be asked, is he our biggest problem?

When is the last time he's played an outstanding game against quality opposition , not garbage like Parramatta and Penrith?

That kick on the zero tackle? Those stupid grubbers that NEVER work? His disgraceful kicking game when we have Miller and Anasta who are far better long kickers?

He was absolutely pathetic tonight. All he does is crab across the field and throw hospital passes to flat footed forwards. And what about that chip kick? He spills the ball and just stands there and watches Watmough make 30 metres and gives up on the play. Pathetic.

I can't believe Potter hooked Farah and not him.

Agree 100%

Said the same thing re the giving up after the chip kick. Reminded me of the conversion attempt at the end of game 1 v Newcastle, he just appeared to give up then as well.

I actually thought that giving Robbie a break, Potter wanted Marshall to step up, he failed big time.

The warning signs were there last week against parra ,manly confirmed that we have issues in attack and defence along with team selections .

I thought the third tackle kicks were a thing of the past once we saw off sheens. Now we have hit the Zero tackle. It is a case of be careful what you wish for!

Phil gave it great justification about keeping Stewart back, but in the end it just sounds like a load of shit.

It's because Marshall is a golden child, never gets singled out for criticism, all Gus and Rabs do is cream their pants over his 'skills', Rabs practically busted his fly over Benji's inside ball to Tedesco that Manly read a mile away.
The bloke dead set shirks it, one of the biggest downhill skiers in the comp and one of the main reasons why the tigers are in the predicament they're in. He wanted his mates Blair and Moltzen and he got what he wanted because the club is too scared of him being unset

i dont follow benji that closely, but by the sound of things his biggest flaw is his off field influence...

in his defense however, he brings ur club millions of dollars each year (as i fan i would much prefer premierships than more money in the coffers, BUT, i think youse would really miss him as a business if he left)

I couldn't agree with this more, sadly I have been saying it here for a while. I just think Benji has lost that freakish streak and he has become predictable. He is a shadow of Thurston, Cronk and even Cherry-Evans. I want someone who will make the right calls all the time and not do crazy no look flick passes.

Get off the media and get your mind back on the game.....

My issue with him tonight was him playing both sides all night and starving Miller of the ball.

Subbing Farah cost us the game. He's our concentration, composure, patience, LEADER!

Iosefa is not NRL standard.

I find it hard to be too overly critical of the team. I see this year as the start of a rebuild & thus disappointing losses will happen. Conditions were against us immensely too.

It was good to see Tedesco get a run. He looked rusty on the wing & more comfortable when he played at fullback in the last 12 mins.

We have at least one competitive half of footy in us it seems. Thats a good platform to work from. Why we turn to shit in the last 40 is an absolute mystery.

We're the absolute definition of a jekyll & hyde team.

I saw him say when Farah resigned until 2017 that he wanted his contract extended from 2015 til then too.

I'd be very wary about this. He is looking very average and unmotivated now, for a bloke who is probably in the top 10 paid in the nrl he is performing way below expectations. If he gets another fat pay check guaranteed for 5 more years I can't imagine him improving. With brooks, sironen and Moses coming through I wouldn't be upgrading Marshall's contract at this stage

Why was Farah subbed last night? It didn't make any sence

Exactly, we were still in the game up until the 32nd minute when robbie was taken off that was it .we lost our way almost immediately .
should of been benji ,he is not even a shadow of his former self, believes to much in his own hype. just getting sick of the flick pass, the silly kicks ,no look pass just about every time he does pass, running sideways across the field leaving no room for his outside backs and those silly faces he pulls when he scores a try or kicks a goal ,reminds me of Duane the "rock" Johnson .get away from the mirrror benji

Not defending Benji but its very hard for anyone to standout when the go forward is non existent.

Till we can run and defend like Manly, its pointless to signal out individuals. I said at the start of the season, we lack power and speed and are sitting ducks for the better sides

When in the past the Tigers have been on a streak, they do their work at speed and their are players in motion, at present they look like old lumbering horses

I didnt like that at all.....it was about Robbie but he made it about himself.

----------------------------

Unless we recruit to play to Marshall's strengths, he's useless...the backs need room, especially a rookie half

When we have no room, no go forward Robbie & Benji play across field and its shit

We will end up re signing him just for marketing purposes alone.
Money talks and he brings it in, win or lose.

We will probably do something stupid like let Brookes go to accomodate.

I've said it previously but I'll say it again- Marshall's usefulness to WT on field ahs to eb critically and dispassionately examined before any extension to current contract is give.

On the plus side his marketing for the club is good and brings in revenue and his potential to change a game is magnificent.

On the bad side his actual performance has been less than satisfactory for a star quality player, he rarely actually does change a games outcome these days, his freakish displays of brilliance are seldom seen and more often that not we see bad plays or bad options.

His was brilliant in 2005 but has done little of merit since then for us, whilst I acknowledge he cant carry the failing team on his own back. He is now 28 and has his best years are behind him (and maybe he has wasted then at WT under Sheens but there you are), he is loosing pace and his game plays / teamwork were never a strong point. He is/was a mercurial 5/8 sometimes brilliant, more often now though not. Is it time for WT to move onwards and look to the future and a more conventional 5/8? Sironen?

Edit- we have put our resources into successfully keeping Farah. I'm not sure the same should be said for Marshall. I know who I think is the more important of the two.

Some of you people have short memories. To say he hasn't done much since 2005 is the most ridiculous thing I've read on here for a long time! To think of not re-signing him and allowing another team to snap him up is just as ridiculous.

We would re sign him even if he lost a leg. That's what he is worth to us. Stop being dramatic.

He has lost his way since Prince departure, even he has been tried in the same spot and failed.
Benji is a great player but isn't a leader and it shows every game.

It is noticeable the better teams contain Benji easily,he will still trouble the lesser teams. Our whole attacking structure seems predictable and outdated.I would like to see young Sirro at 5/8 with Benji pushed out to the centres alternating between positions during the game .

6 months ago I would have told u to get off the drugs but with the new obstruction rule, Benji running across field looking for runners is not only outdated but now illegal. Playing a little wider may force him to run at the line, something that he has not done well in years.
