You're the one who just said don't make it personal. I'm telling you that LU have no obligation to tell you anything about where they have got their news from.

Its a public forum mate.

And nowhere did I say they have to divulge that information. Perhaps you should read before trying to get involved in an actual discussion.

I've been following this thread from the start and thought I would raise a different point of view...

So far, everyone has been on Willy's back for being arrogant, stubborn etc and I believe the phrase "no one is bigger than the club" has been thrown around a number of times.

While I believe that the saying is true, I think in this case it applies to Noad just as much as it does Mason. He is the one imposing an alleged $50K fine for simply not attending a GF lunch. He is the one refusing to let Mason fight a boxing match for charity, he is the one who Mason has the problem with.

While Mason is not bigger than the bulldogs, neither is Noad. For some reason this phrase always assumes that the management are in the right. IMO, management are in the wrong here, and should be held accountable if Mason walks.

Yet again, take your own advice you just gave to another poster  Amazes me that you can't make a post without trying to have a jab at someone, and if they jab back, you cry wolf and report the post. Anyways...

You're the one having a shot at LU because you don't like what they are posting and because they haven't posted another link for you to read. In any respect LU have a far better idea and far more credible sources than you, so its up to you if you want to label them like the Daily Telegraph or tabloid journalists.

You're basing your own opinion on what you read in the media, and what you read on The Kennel. IMO each of those have just as much idea as Bob who throws faeces at people who pass by.

Danish - the sad part is that the board has already backed Noad. Willie's f**ked either way by that token.

So you're challenging my right as a member of this forum to question a news story presented to me, just as I've questioned SMH and Tele in this same thread? Wake up to yourself and stop picking a fight for the sake of it. If legend has an issue with what I'm saying by all means he can take me on for it. What's it got to do with you?

On that note, I'm going on holidays. I might check in to see what you accost me with next, I might not.

Either way, au revoir. :nwave:

Deary me Tim Tim... You take offence to everything and go on the defence with any post made. Must be a very stressful life for you on these forums.

Picking a fight? Did nothing of the sort. If you didn't get so offended or say things like,
And nowhere did I say they have to divulge that information. Perhaps you should read before trying to get involved in an actual discussion.
Then maybe you wouldn't provoke things by going on the defensive every 3 posts. Not eveyone is trying to rile you up mate, but see it that way if you like. As I said, must be very stressful that everyone is against you.

Whats it got to do with me? When you act the twat (same as any other poster) I can invite myself into the discussion. After all, its a public forum. If you don't want me to intervene, why don't you do it privately?

Get off your own high horse mate

Fair enough.

Whoever said Mason is worth 5,000 seats every week is having themselves on. Players come and players go, I've never known people to only support a team for the sake of one player and stop if he moves on?

Sure people support the club, but they go to games too see the star players rather then watch them on TV.

Its pretty f**king easy too see mate, also part time fans, band wagon fans ect.

Marquee players are hugely important too drawing crowds.

But 5,000 for one star player/Willie? He's old news now days.

SBW is more the rage - he might get say 1,000 bandwagoners interested when he's confirmed and regularly on the field.

Re the comments above about Noad also not being bigger than the club - day-to-day Noad is the club. The Board appointed him to be the club. In a nine member Board you'll always have one or two with differing views, but the Board has to clear about how it wants things run, and that will usually be in athe club's wider interest (including sponsors, long-term image etc) rather than bowing down to the petulant whims of one player who is probably getting past his best...

The real question is......

When is a contract not a contract. If he is contracted, he either plays or sits on the sidelin at his discretion........and doesn't get paid...and ends up in Court for breach of contract..

So you would allow a player to fight in a boxing match. Charity or not. No club would allow that to happen.

Noad has laughed at that alledged sum. Looks like it is nowhere near that mark.

Mason is acting like a little girl. There are rules that need to be followed. There are events that he needs to attend - this is not the first that he has missed.

Mason's attitude has been piss poor. Noad is only doing his job, and doing it well.

The Sharks had no problem with letting Lance Thompson fight in a boxing match. He ended up no worse for wear.

That's the Sharks for you. Hardly a club with any real aspirations. lol

Mason is on 400k or thereabouts. Lets say he gets hurt in the bout. What then? Tough luck right?

tbh mason is paid to be a footballer...if we didnt wanna let him risk an injury by boxing FFS then thats our decision. We pay his wages. The $50k fine suggestion is rubbish. Based on everything i've heard we haven't even suggested the size of the fine. 50k would be ludicrous. If Mason wasn't happy with the way the club was going he could handle the situation much better.

i'm sick to death of our club constantly being in the news. I'm tired of reading all these headlines its becoming a weekly occurance. Who else manages negative press in november FFS.

I recently spoke to a Canterbury GREAT, a man who was a part of the reals Dogs of War team of the eighties.
He said he could not believe how much influence Mason had at the Bulldogs and, in his opinion, the Club would be better off without the him...

The NRL has set up a special hotline to help distraught Bulldogs supporters cope with the impending loss of Willie Mason for the 2008 season. Anyone feeling depressed, suicidal or more psychotic rage than usual is encouraged to call:

# 1800-467-776 (1800-GORRRN)

it could simply be a case of Mason trying to get his head in the papers like the NFL rumours. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest - it's been a while since everyones been talking about Willie Mason. Maybe a bit too long for his liking.

EXACTLY!!
