Ronald needs to get his Commenwealth Bank kiddies cheque book and crayon out and offer this guy some big bickies, 100,000 should be enough. Send the 'Dream Team' (Noyce, Ronald, Royce, Junior Burger and Morris)out there to woo him.

Go Ronald Go, Go Ronald Go!

Not sure if Willie and our club would be a good gel.

Not denying his talent as a player but

a) Not sure if Sheens would put up with his antics
b) With such a young side is this the kind of senior figure we need.

Maybe this will revive the O'Hara trade option :)

Lets face it though he has not left the Dogs and we will not sign him regardless

he seems like a stubborn prick, so i reckon he will leve the dogs.

Our best option would be to trade away O'Hara and another player, maybe Morris.

We need size, we need to go all out here.

btw, I think Mason is an A grade tosser, but he is what we need.

Can't see him playing in the NRL for the next couple of years.

1. Dogs will probably release him from the remaining (2, I think) years of his contract, with the condition he doesn't sign with a rival NRL club, much like Parra & J Lyon.

2. No NRL will have the cap space to accommodate his 350-450K salary this year.

It'll be ESL, NFL, WWE, or Sweet FA for Willie I believe.

Yep surely he already has a deal in the ESL - remember he reckoned he got offered close to a mill a season.
Reckon this is all drummed up my him and his manager.

But would they need to accomodate his entire salary?? let the dogs pay some of it and another club pay 300,000 of it.

If tigers had enough money to sign nonu - the option of swapping for O'Hara is definetly one which needs to be looked at. Especially if they lose Willie then they have limited options in terms of replacing him.

mate the tiger thought they had enough to sign nonu, but the free meal voucher at the ashfield rsl dollar lunch plus 100 bucks a week just wasnt enough to clinch the deal

I have heard a wisper CDF might have gone offshore--My guess he has tax issues. My mail is he is leaving no stone unturned in the search of two outside backs with starch. ( and of course with the flexibility to be turned into backrowers if one of our other 47 get injured).

No Willie Wonker isnt what we need, we need players who can impact for 80minutes or close to it. Not five minute wonders

I would love to have an impact player like him at the Tigers, but I just dont see him walking away or the Dogs cutting him loose.

If anything this could be an elaborate smokescreen set up by NRL marketing to get the NRL some exposure thru controversy. Especially since this is the good type of controversy, not alcohol/drug/rape/brawl related.

Seriously, I reckon league heavies sit around and brainstorm this stuff.

AAP:

Wests Tigers have snared the services of Willie Mahon on a 3 year deal. The 94kg backrower and brother of Scott Mahon was snared in a clandestine meeting held with Recruitment Manager Ronald McDonald at the Woolpack Hotel in North Parramatta after it became apparent Mahon was to be released from the Granville Diggers after throwing a `him or me ultimatum' to the Diggers Club registrar.

McDonald could hardly hide his glee and emerged from the meeting with contract in hand and predicted Mahon would continue to be a fixture in the NSW origin side.

The Wests Tigers joined a chorus of clubs ruling out chasing Mason's signature.

"We're not in a position to do anything there," chief executive Stephen Noyce said. "There are some salary cap constraints obviously.

"We're very much (happy with the list we have). First thing's first, he's got a contract with Canterbury and it's up to them to decide what they want to do, but salary cap would certainly preclude us from doing anything anyway."

`He has a contract with Canterbury'

It's been obvious to all and sundry he's about to be shown the door for a week now and our clowns are sticking to the `he has a contract' mantra. You could not make it up

i like the "We're not in a position to do anything here" line.

Something these fantastic four have been really succesful at in the past 2 seasons.

well judging by those comments, it doesn't look hopeful that we'll be signing anyone this offseason
