the kiwis just did something the all blacks havent for 21 years.

this is the sort of opportunity rugby league needs to grow in NZ.

I hope they don't blow it like they did when the Kiwis won the Tri-Nations.

There were promises of playing at Eden Park and whatnot and nothing ever eventuated.

NZRFU would never let them play at eden park.
With the Warriors doin well and the kiwis winning, lets hope the NZRL dont manage to frak this up.

They've been world champs at netball a few times in recent history.
Australia got it back off them in the last world cup.

won't be that big tbh. After the initial hysteria I can't see the NZRL doing that much to capitalise...

Its a massive oppurtunity and there'll probably be a boost in junior numbers next year. They should be able to sell out their games next year. I don't think the NZRL will properly take advantage of this oppurtunity though.

This win though could lend support for a 2nd NZ NRL team which the game seriously needs.

There's always great euphoria in the underdog winning.

I'm looking forward to the ABs-Kiwis comparisons, and what bs the haters will be writing.

It's a cricket ground, how would the rahrahs be able to do anything? :?

Wouldn't happen in a million years, Rugby has a stranglehold on Eden Park, hell they even have a rugby academy based there. Cricket and League don't really go hand in hand in NZ, Auckland leaguies summer sport of choice is softball or tag although everyone keeps and eye on the international cricket anyway.

You Aussie fans have no idea how much league is under seige here. While you enjoy the number one spot in profile and participation levels on the Eastern Seaboard, league here is probably in fourth spot for winter sports behind soccer, rugby and basketball in that order. We supposedly have 20,000 league participants as opposed to Australia's 400,000 estimated participants and in Auckland there would probably be 5000 registered players at most. Our National sporting body is broke due to mismanagement and rugby's covert efforts to keep our sport down. We also have our media trying to constantly denigrate league at every opportunity. League is almost a non-event in schools here because despite the good work done by Auckland league, the rugby old boys network puts too much pressure on school funding to allow league to get a foothold at schoolboy level.

This win is hugely important to local league in NZ.

NZ are Women's World Cup winners too don't forget!

Surely the NZRL must enter talks with the govt and SPARC asap to get some long term support for the code in Aotearoa?

This is the shot in the arm that the NZRL needs. For all the off-field shambles, they can use this success in a very positive way. Hopefully they do so.
