They were shameless this season, they chose contestants with the saddest stories as opposed to actual culinary talent. I think there's like double the mediocrity and ten times the tears this season.

Can I just say the US version is much better. The judges are way more honest, contestants don't spend half of each episode speaking about their lives and the challenge and the elimination are in the same episode because the episodes go a lot faster when contestants don't share their life stories.

The contestants also seem to hold genuine contempt for other contestants and it's funny. I mean there's this one psycho country hick bitch who told this annoying vegan chick contestant she's going to knock her out if she doesn't shut up.
