cooper used to ahve good footwork but all the quality ball always seemed to go to gasnier on the opposite side. coopers nowhere near the attacking palyer he once was but he still does reasonably well defensively, he aint the only centre who struggles in attack as they get older ET was the same

good to kno im not the only one who is thinking this

You mean that you - and everyone else, bar Dragons fans, can spot the bleedin' obvious?

Cor blimey guv. Who'd 'ave thunk it?

He's been in the game for a decade. In the Centres that's an eternity and he's obviously slowing with age. Matt Rogers was a Centre when Coops first was and he's moved to a position that relies more on guile than out and out speed.

Pity Coops didn't do the same really. It's a miracle really that he's playing 1st grade in a speed position after a decade and he should be applauded for doing it, rather than bagged for being slower than he was when he was 20.

Slowing with age does not make one over rated.

Cooper when 100% and fit is one of the best centres around. He's underrated in attack, though probably overrated in defense.

He's been playing hurt all year with a tough injury to manage. He'll bounce back next year. And though he might not of scored many tries how many times was the final pass to Morris from him?

Rogers was a winger when Cooper was.... Cooper moved into the centres, Rogers went to Union.

Centre relies on guile as much as it does out and out speed, he may have slowed a bit - more through injury than anything this season - but he is still among the better centres in the game.

Matt Cooper has become a liability in many ways. His annual average appearences iin the NRL is about 12.

He is worse that SBW! Remeber him.

i just sayin he aint a bad player but in his current form should not be rated at all, he lost saints tht game!

worst thread and worst post ever.

How exactly did Cooper single handedly lose saints the game on Saturday night?

You do know he has been unable to train for the best part of the 2nd half of the year, and has been taking needles to get on the field.
Saturday night was one of his better games for the back end of the year.

Cooper has always been overated IMO...nowhere near the standard of Hodges, Inglis and co yet always seemed to make rep sides.

The people you just mentioned are QLD'ers.

Which NSW centres would you have had ahead of Cooper while he was getting picked for NSW?

No thommo, for some reason fein has a thing for posting lol emoticons, just ignore him.

For the record I was rolling my eyes at the whole thread. Hes had a nightmare season with injuries. We lost the game coz the Broncos out played us.

Watching the Chooseday Night Football game, and it's a shame age has caught up on him. For awhile there, he was the complete centre, he had it all.
