Great track man. Love that swampy/gothy/country twang.

Here’s a couple of tracks of mine with a somewhat similar vibe (emphasis on the somewhat), but without vocals, much less professional, MUCH more lo-fi and much less actual musical ability. Most certainly not up the alley of the average NRL fan, but if I had to put it in a genre box I’d say it’s something along the lines of ‘Psychedelic Blues Punk’.

I fecking love these mate. Kind of have The Drones feel.
Of The Drones, they moved to Sydney from Perth, there were two song writers at the time, Gareth Liddiard and James McCann. They had a falling out and Gareth moved to Melbourne and kept the band going. James stayed in Sydney and formed The Lowdorados, some songs crossed paths.
They remained friends, so much so that The Drones covered The Lowdorados with the song "This Time".
How do I know this?
I played in The Lowdorados and recorded the song before The Drones took it to another space.

Positives

- We looked good up the middle. Played hard, straight and fast. Won the contact - which we should have done, as their pack (or whole team) is dog shit
- Brailey ran, lots…..
- Katoa was a beast - shows why we missed him so much
- No Atkinson

Negatives

- Still lots of 1 man hit ups - no support runners, no dummy runners to take away some flies, relied entirely on individual players strength (and the shittyness of the Dargans). The good defensive teams will swallow that up and dominate us.
- Still quite a few examples of players switching off/turning their back/thinking the play is done. The Cook try was another example of this - AFB had clocked off, so had a couple of others
- For all our dominance with the ball, we created very little.

Cronullafied Moment of the Match

For what feels like years now, I’ve berated Brailey for never having a dig at the line himself. And this week, he throws the dummy and darts over…… only to be called back for a wonky play the ball by McSloth

Actually I have another positive - for all Thursday night games are generally a bit shit, getting a win on a Thursday does make the weekend so much better - don’t have to think about when our game is on, got the whole weekend to do whatever, and can just sit back and relax, knowing our boys got the 2 points and watch the other games with the added bonus that there might be some semi-serious (not career threatening, but season ending) injuries to key opposition players.

Is it nice to get a win over the Dragons? For sure.

But I don't think anyone can come away from this game and think "that was a step in the right direction". The Dragons are awful, and the Sharks were down by 12 at half time! How many of the tries the Sharks scored in the second would an ok NRL team allow? Maybe one?

All this will do will ease a bit of pressure on Fitzgibbon when he names the exact same side again next week.

No bar in upper ET but was able to walk down to the bottom, get beers and be back in my seat after a try before kick off. Crazy. Walking down Wooloware road about an hour before kick off was less busy than during the day. Wild.

Anyway good to get a win and get out of that f**king cold.

Thank gawd the Dargons were absolutely shit hopeless as we were not much better.

I think, no, I know that even the Emu Park Emus would of steam rolled through the Stinking Stains in that second half. They were abysmal.

It would of been nice to see a few long range team tries against that rabble then just pumping through the middle. Although that was nice to watch for a change as it wasn't our mob getting the battering.

Luckily for us that there are so many other inconsistent shit teams playing in this years comp. I have to keep checking the ladder to see if it is not a typo that we are still in 5th spot.

Next two weeks should be fun, fun, fun.

I went to the Members Bar at half time for beers and got served immediately. I was shocked that there was no que. Must be a Thursday thing, or the mood after the previous crappy 25 minutes.

So true - living in Bathurst (which has very similar temperature ranges to Canberra) for 11 years shows you what cold is…
Bathurst, Lithgow, in between and for about 50 kilometers around would be like living in a freezer and turning on the air conditioner.

When I used to do the dog show circuit used to go there for the Ag shows and fair near nearly broke my poor frozen will off with every morning piss.

And RCB, you can have Canberra weather all on your own too matey.

I think it was a combination of both but I heard last week sales were already low.

Such a waste. Ideally the 5:30 game Saturday or even tonight. I mean we had a f**king 5 day turn around. Dogs/Souths would always get the Sunday spot but there was a way to make it a more attractive. That being said we should have more people turning up. Embarrassing.

We now have seen how Fitz selects Atko, he is th option when we don't have our set squad which played last night and Hazelton.
No other forward gets a run, no Puru, McCulloch any other young guy, this will come back to bite us

The game last night told us that this team is struggling, any other team in the comp would have towelled up the dragons, the dolphins put 50 on them from last night.

Fitz - has not learnt Hiroti looked injured running on the field, it would have been better to given a debutant a run.

Kennedy - He didnt look dangerous, but his stats look good, he can go end of year
Katoa - He offered a lot, that try from scrum, he did that last year to Broncs
Ramien - He is out of form he does not know where to go
Hiroti- should not have played
Mulitalo - Was great and a few others need to have that intensity, I would have him at fullback when Stonestreet is back
Trindall - So much better, he has a great kicking game, he targeted the weakness of the drags and he backed up for a try, he needs someone better along side him
Hynes - I swear his metres are more from going sideways then forward, he will not sprint, if another club wants him and willing to pay, then let him go, I am so off him
AFB - Lead the team so well, big minutes he needs to do that rest of season
Brailey - Played a lot better, when he runs and backs up his game is on, he needs to do those dummy half kicks now and then to support Trindall
Kaufisi - He can go, offers absolutely nothing at all, the knights needs forwards for next year
Wilton - He was stronger, like to see more hit ups
Nikora - His 2nd half glosses over the pathetic attempt of tackle in first half, he is defending with Hynes and Ramien, something seriously wrong on that side of the field
Mcinness - the less minutes the better, we were so much better when he was not on the field, another can go when contract is up
Talakai - Needs to be starter play lock
Uele - better off bench again
Rudolf - he added some enthusiasm hopefully improves
Colqhuon - Was realling playing well off back of AFB, he should be starter at Prop

Bench next week Uele, Rudolf, Cam, Burns

With Hiroti injured and Talakai the obvious choice to replace him, does Fitzy go back to Atkinson on the bench or go the 4 forward bench with Burns or Puru. The 4 forward bench definitely fills me with a bit more confidence.

rudolf I thought went alright. Offers more than Uele.
