They looked quite strong in the first half of the Charity Shield and I wouldn't be taking them too lightly. The team we trounced at the back end of last season isn't going to be the same team we come up against round 1.

Like Vic said, their 1-5 are their weakness, we have them covered there. Their forward pack is far more experienced than ours however our boys have shown promise and this will be a good test for them to see where they're at. I honestly think it comes down to how Brooks and Benji play up against Hunt and Norman... If Brooks and Benji are on, the likes of BJ, Luciano, Nofo could have a field day and we can put a score on them, however, if Hunt and Norman can match us I think it could go either way.

I think it'll be tight up until the 50min mark but we'll pull away slightly to win by 12. Scoring 6 unconverted tries to 2 lmao
I like that unconverted tries and we win ..We would have to think about the Benji high ball to Hunt ..Although I’ve lost track of his position

I reckon if Momo isn’t in the 21 come tomorrow, it’s definitely happening

I highly doubt it’ll be finalised before this weeks game tho unless it’s announced today, soonish
Madge would have looked at Grants trial game I think against the warriors very closely..Apparently he was a stand out..Madge will do what he needs to do to win this next game

It ain’t up to us anymore though, Grant knows we’re keen to have him aboard. It’s up to the incompetent Greenberg (and Melbourne)

Apparently forwards will line up same as warriors game with Eiso and Taylor fighting for that last bench spot. Walters starting #9. Honestly after the warriors trial I’d be going with ET for sure

Backs still a mystery

Maybe a front rower short, but looks good

Yeah we are still a quality front rower short, but I guess Aloiai when he comes off goes into that role in the rotation

It’s probably why we were also so desperate to get Stefano on board ASAP because the bench apart from Musgrove doesn’t look that intimidating. Expecting Twal to play big minutes also

Massive fan of that starting team, AD will show his utility value in his debut game for us

. It Would be good if that backline clicks...There’s no reason why it couldn’t ..2 tall guys out wide for the high kicks on attack esp. .. & with those AD hands we could have a second standoff out wide with the odd missed pass straight to Thommo when all eyes are on Joey L , maybe a brilliant link man

Tell me it couldn’t be a grand final backline

Its not bad, still lack pace but it’s not the worst.

For us to even get close to the grand final Brooks would need a Dally M season, plus an 80 min #9 (Grant)
Yeah I agree. Pace is a concern as is consistant game management from the halves and fullback X factor. Its a probable middle of the road backline but can improve as the year progresses.

Yip and we don’t know how much or quickly it can improve but definitely the potential to be something special. The good thing is they have all played at the required level before for extended periods and for all but one of them -lately, they just have to bring it together. If they - Benji”s last year, Brooks in his prime, Scary Joey L and don’t forget he’s fast as hell & Nofo - he’s just going to enjoy the ride , arnt ready now they never will be

Like a Mal Maninga with a Chicka Fergusson at the back only better

Dragons are apparently going with Williame as centre. Would have preferred Aitkin....BJ would have run all over Atkin. Williame is a bigger body but I hope BJ has a field day.

I like this team but Taylor to 13 and Aloiai to the bench...he's more effective from the bench and Taylor can blunt some of the Dragons attack early on.
