Soak this is in guys. Tough month coming up. We manage to jag 2 of the next 4, pretty sure we’ll play finals this year
Massive crowd next week

Friday night prime time footy, 4 wins in a row, roosters defending premiers and with plenty of away support in Newcastle

I’m hoping for 25k at a minimum

If we maintain the way we've been performing recently we'll go well over the next few games. Defence is the key.
The risk is that if we don't score points early then we might start bowing our heads. The real test will come when we need to bounce back.

Another close to perfection performance. Dominant first half, come out and score early second. Give them nothing until the ref awards them two tries. Then with 13 on the pitch again, score and dominate.

Repeat sets, great defense and forwards dominating for 80 minutes. Really loving our rotation at the moment. Mann being the perfect six in our system. Even our wingers are playing extremely well. Would like to see our centres get a bit more early ball but apart from that, perfect.

Massive test of the team the next few weeks. It feels like we are in the perfect position to give it everything we’ve got. Minimal injuries, good form, high in confidence.

Our season will be decided by how we come through this period that starts with games against the top teams and extends through the Origin period where we lose our best forward and the key to our attack, at a minimum. If we manage to stay in the hunt, I expect we'll finish the season strongly. But the poor start means we can't afford many more slip-ups, and all the big guns are still waiting for us.

being a less fancied team against the competition favorites we'll also be up against refs with a preconceived idea of the outcome as well. We'll have to play better than good.

Our best all round game so far, all played well, have to admit Mann went better than I thought he would. Bench was good and strong, good big win, strong defence not going to get nit picky all games have some poor plays and options we limited ours very well.

A brilliant team performance today. That first 40 was quite awesome. We totally dominated the ruck in attack and defence. Had a massive roll on when in possession and played fast, attractive footy. Danny Levi take a bow young man. Love your running game from dummy half. Pearce was effing brilliant as was Ponga. But most pleasing was the obvious communication, understanding and effort in defence. I can not believe how much that has turned around. Incredible. Our technique has improved out of sight. Systems are the best we have had and the edges look better for it.

In the past few season we simply met the ball carrier up high and were seemingly happy or unable to stop that go forward and PCM gain and unable to put blokes on their back. Now we consistently have three in a tackle with one chopping the legs ala Mlb style and more often than not, turn them on their backs. Makes a massive difference. Love it!

Can't wait to see how it stands up against strong opposition.

Thought we had a lot of blokes hitting their front and getting excellent play the ball too. We had 6 forwards very close to running over 100 m each.

Hats off to Kurt Mann as well. Even gained two repeat sets. Far out!

Mann the Man!!

Erveryone playing superbly. Funny stuff by SKD there at the end. Would have been awesome to be up 34 - 0 at half time.

How good is Gavet off the bench? Doesn't give the opposition a rest. Doesn't make as many metres or offer impressive stats but that impact is exactly what we need 30 minutes into a game. Same for Ese'ese.
He ran for 120 mtrs today. Second highest forward behind Klem although mostly kick returns but lots of energy and mongrel today.

Loving what Mann is bringing us. Simple but effective. That’s all we really need in his position. When he gets involved the play doesn’t break down. He’s a smart footballer if not explosive one. Watson can come on and cause some havoc when we need it, but in the to and fro of the game Mann offers composure.

This.

But for some reason, I have no confidence we will go with that.

Keep waiting the next change to the spine.........

Seems like brown has stumbled into his best spine and bench rotation.

6. Mann 9. Levi 14. Watson 17. Sione

Do we still want to move Levi on? In current form the 380k he is on is unders.

f**k no. Looks like he has been told to return to his strengths and it has coincided with the win streak. Why did he ever have the leash on??? Or is it some sort of coaching strategy that has now brought him on??

From what I’ve heard from Browny, Levi was told to simplify his game. That’s what he’s done, and it’s working a treat

Ahead of the next three games, this is what we needed. 4th straight win, sitting in the thick of the middle of the table with the best F/A outside the top 4. The domination in both attack and defence was brilliant to see and for all but that 10 minutes without Mann we looked as good as any top team albeit it, without calling us as such given the Dragons served it up for us pretty well.

I'm really excited for the next few weeks. Not about losing or even winning, but just getting a good idea of where this team is at. This is the hardest part of our draw and it will 100% define our season.

Mann should stay at 5/8 and given a decent crack at it.

Today
run -75 mtrs, 1 try, 1 line break, 5 tackle breaks, 24 tackles at 96% efficiency , 3 kicks for 39 mtrs ( grubers ) and 2 forced drop outs.

In 1 match he's beaten Watsons season stats in the 5/8 position.

From memory Mann filled in in the halves for the dragons last season and did a decent job, 5/8th might be his best position

Mann was good today and will only get better given some time, he looks promising.

I do like Watson and I'm sure he's got a lot to offer but he needs to do a lot of work on his game to be a 5/8 - or at least the 5/8 we need. The competition is so close even 1 repeat set from a gruber can turn a game in its head.

Finally got to sit down and watch the game. Incredibly impressed with our defence. Considering the shambles we’ve been the last 5 years it’s hard to believe what a wall we’ve become.

I'd love to believe everything is wonderful and it was great to see some support in the halves re Mann and his numbers but the Dragons are now pretty much where we were only 5 weeks ago and were simply shite yesterday. Yes, we were bloody good compared to a lot of the form we have dished out this season but it will be a whole new level next week for us.

Can't wait to see how we perform against the Roosters.
