I have watched the game a few times and considered all contingencies.

Given our spirit and heart, I am prepared to go out on a limb and argue that we would have beaten their top tier side.

Led by the result that it was a thrashing of extreme overs and Madge had the side stepping up.

I compared the sides before the match and had us at 30-40% better on paper but the plus 400% outcome was massive overs and its not that unreasonable that we could have beaten them at full strength.

It sounds counter-intuitive but it looked to me that Madge had their game plan in his head before kick off.

Their only genuine highlight was Burto taking his chances and going through a chaotic gap.
The rest of their game was general nonsense. Spread the ball out so as to be repeatedly pulverised.

Well done to Madge. Let’s see more of it.

Sometimes it is easier to demonstrate a degree of dignity and class around a defeat than it is in victory.

I put myself out here on Friday night not to long after our defeat and offered my congratulations on your well deserved victory. I was being sincere.

Im not sure some of your supporters have covered themselves in glory by generating countless pages of content on the game day thread on our forum.

You have every right to enjoy the victory, look forward to potentially making a charge to the top eight I’m just not some of the too and fro banter over countless pages reflects well on both sets of supporters.

PS I went to Lidcombe Oval on Saturday and enjoyed watching our boys carve up your Magpies. Not quite the same I know but at least I took something out of the weekend.

I assume you probably cackle uncontrollably with some of the stuff you post, I can only assume you think it to be very witty and funny, there can be no other rational explanation.
