I think most fair minded Panthers fans would genuinely like to see your club do well.

It is not as if we have been blessed with continued success, even if we did enjoy some moderate success making the bottom half of the top 8 under the Anthony Griffin reign.

It is not always easy supporting one of the lesser lights as I know from over 50 years as a Panthers fan.

The Panthers have benefited from there local junior nursery and establishing ties to the Central West of NSW.

My opinion only but I tend to think the Wests Tigers need to employ a more strategic approach and tap into the junior nursery from the Campbelltown / Camden areas as well as perhaps the Southern Highlands. I just think you are more likely to turn things around by bringing through your own quality youngsters than trying to find success in the open market which we all know is very difficult particularly for the lesser light clubs. It may take time but cold be more beneficial for long term and sustained success.

Sadly, TSP, is capable of rational thought and making intelligent comment but he seems to get caught up in the Ivan Cleary issue, which really after two years is pointless in the scheme of things.

We have some great juniors, mate. They just all play for other clubs now lol.

But agreed, we need to go down the same route as what has brought Penrith success this year (quality local juniors) instead of buying overpriced hacks.

PS. Ivan can go to heck. The rest of the Riff are fine.

I suggested similar in Game day thread as was promtly told 'thanks scoop'......

Was the person concerned perhaps being 'ironic' ? I'll never know.......
The sky is blue.

You roll on in with a grudge and an Ivan defence policy, saying what's been said amongst tigers fans for years and expect us to acknowledge your thoughts as revolutionary and new?

The only thing that shits me all this development stuff, is we do it f**king year and get no where.

I just want some sort of success (top 8) while we are doing it. TBH, I thought at the start of the year, our forwards were going to be pretty good, but hey have failed. I didn't expect much from the backs at all this season, but hoped Benji and the forwards would carry them through. Not to be.

My biggest gripe towards Maguire is y in the hell did he give brooks an additional 2yrs last season.Monumental error in judgement when he coached against him & had enough time at concord to realise that he isn’t the game manager to build ur side around.
Because Brooks is a nice guy?

THAT game was against the dragons, ok that will help me find it. Any more info would be helpful ..The year? cheers

Rivalry heats up as Tigers boss reveals he still hasn’t spoken with ‘disrespectful’ Cleary

“I’ve said before I’m passionate about the Wests Tigers and I’m focused on ensuring we achieve the success the fans have been patiently waiting for,” Pascoe told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“Anyone who treats the club disrespectfully through their behaviour, I have a right to be upset about.”
I’m bet that Ivan is Very upset about that ...lol

I give us more of a chance then the Roosters game, although it’s still minimal. Api is by far their most dangerous player. He brings Tamou and JFH onto the ball and gives the halves plenty of space

We were injury ravaged and lost 2 players during the game to illegal play last game against them and put in our best performance of the season. Were up 12-6 until 9 straight penalties/restarts ‘managed’ the panthers home

our side on paper this time round is stronger yet we’ve fallen off a cliff the last 4 weeks and I don’t see an end in sight

lol. Is that the same Justin Pascoe that bailed mid contract with the Panthers to take up the Tigers job? Surely not, there must be 2 of them. What a sanctimonious f**kwit.

no love for pascoe here, and the bloke should definetly STFU

however he was off contract when he went from Penrith to Wests

You make some good points Vic.

I think to be fair, we approached the last game v Panthers with a significant venom, Had some great spells in defence, were resilient for an extensive time and played well into the twilight. But the shudders arrived.

BJ’s coat hanger was more of an isolated personal mischief and against our general game play.

Madge wanted brutal, but not stupid.

Bj is so strong and powerful- he can do enormous damage playing quite legally.

We saw what happened to the eels last night when they saw a walkover coming. That Souths side was packed full of replacements and second stringers.

Ivan will really need to get into their heads to lift his team. I have no idea what Madge can do?’

I recall it being much the same scenario as what happened with Ivan. Just with far less give a f**k factor. Both negotiating a deal with a rival while still fresh in their current deal.

The mention of it is more for the benefit of @The Silverdale Phantom, the majority of Tigers fans have rightly moved on.

A winner would have fixed things up within the club or vastly improved and be at least competitive or even slight favourites to win and be still having family get togethers with Cleary with not a bother in sight..instead of being Loser where there’s a worse situation now under his watch. He dwells on it and looks for anyone to blame or any excuse he can find and hold a massive grudge..We don’t need that kind of negative energy in the club .. especially letting the world know that’s the type of person we have running the club

Well like I said I don’t believe he was under contract. Fairly certain CEOs don’t have 2-3 year contracts. You're just employed.

I really, really don’t want to go over 2 year old ground, but hey panther fans are flooding our forum again, however no one is shitty at Ivan for leaving early. We are Shitty at him spending our entire salary cap for the next 4 years and then pissing if 18 months into it (after swearing to the fans that he wasn’t)

Now it’s the complete and utter smugness from him. He waltzed into a club that made the finals 4 years in a row that had the best junior set up in the country thanks to Gould and Hooks hard work For years prior which he is now reaping the benefits of. Meanwhile we are left with the mess he created until 2022.

Ohh and little known fact. Ivan Cleary shares the same manager as Josh Reynolds, Moses Mbye, Elijah Taylor, Russell Packer and Ben Matulino. Not dodgy at all cough cough kick backs

The point is Cleary isn’t a very good coach by himself..Pascoe should have seen that and realised it was a bonus to lose him..I mean look at the players Cleary bought on...Hes proved nothing in the NRL as a coach really .Pascoe should have seen that as a positive..he didn’t and went to the other extreme with Madge to sort out imagined problems re Cleary leaving and got a worse coach - and now here he is crying into his beer with the rest of us

The sooner Pascoe buggers off the better. That muppet has done absolutely nothing for this club. Only pipes up sporadically in instances like this, and his noise is absolutely pointless in this case. We have played the Riff three times since Ivan left. How about he focuses on the mess we find ourselves in (and every year since he's been here).

As for the game, f**k if we played the Panthers last time we met without Api and Kikau (and minimal brain snaps from BJ) we'd win comfortably. But we look a shell of that side now. Not confident at all.

Fair enough. I do get you guys being pissed about the state of your cap. I didn't know that about the management situation. I'd hate to think there were kickbacks happening, but in any case those slimy f**kers have way too much power.
